Nice coffeeshop and would be cozy to work here. However, the drinks game could be improved. Iām a matcha latte girl though and I found the matcha flavour not strong enough and it too watered down or too much milk. A good matcha latte has a strong matcha flavour and needs more proper proportions. I find a lot of places donāt know how to matcha lattes wellā baristas: if itās not your area of expertise, itās important to get it good so it really is worth the nearly $8-10 it is after tax. Otherwise, youāre buying really expensive cup of milk with barely matcha flavour. Iāve tried it a couple times now to give it a chance and it wasnāt good. I had to ask the barista specifically for less milk and more matcha for better flavour. My friend got the seasonal hibiscous mango drink and said she couldnāt taste the mango either. In general; the drink recipes could be stronger in flavour and a lot more balanced.    Read moreMast happens to be my local specialty coffee spot, and they never disappoint: in a light-filled minimal space, they provide a full board of well-prepared barista drinks, and a nicely curated showcase of bakery treats, packaged food and imported sodas. Their customer loyalty programme is easy and fun to use, the baristas are excellent, and the space is conducive to quiet laptopping as well as lively catch-up sessions with friends or colleagues. You know they're doing something right when hospital staffers and TMU personnel walk past closer chain cafés to get Mast coffee drinks.
Mast has five small tables plus a side counter with high stools. Hours and offerings vary slightly according to the season.
The space is fully accessible, with a push-button door and an unusually pretty mobility-device-friendly washroom.

However, the tea-based drinks we had were practically undrinkable. The iced chai latte wasn't good, but it was a lot better than what I can only describe as liquid pure cinnamon of a hot chai latte w/ almond milk. The thing was absolutely loaded with pure cinnamon, which in itself, is not a pleasant taste and is very bitter. I did pass on the sweetener but I'm generally a person who drinks their coffee and teas black so it's usually not an issue for me. I continued to drink for a while hoping I would eventually pass the cinnamon coated top and tried stirring it but it was just pure cinnamon throughout. I'm not sure who thinks this tastes good but I had to finish it by pouring it...
