Follow @bredgyeats on IG for more food posts! The quality of these baked goods definitely doesn't match-a the Google star rating it has, as I was a bit hesitant to try it too. However, once I stepped in, I couldn't resist the alluring beauty of the Danish loaf and the durian bun. Once cut through its crisp exterior, the cross-section reveals an attractive matcha cream filling that brings a touch of bitterness and tea aroma. Each bite is fluffy yet springy too, which is a sign of a great baker. The durian bun had equally delicious bread and had a subtle durian aroma along with chunks of pineapple inside. Could be a tame starting point for those curious about durian?

Small little cafe with no seating only allowed for take-out. The presentation of the bread is fantastic - everything looks artisanal. But the gripe I have with places like this is the price. In my honest opinion; $10+ for a bun, $8+ for a small cup of matcha latte? A little steep if you ask me (I get it, inflation, Toronto, yadda yadda yadda). The flavors of the bun were good though - not too sweet, but not flavorless. The matcha lattes were good in their own regard being strong in matcha flavor. Aside from that, nothing else to write home about for this place. Not sure it made a good enough impression for me to purposely return, unless I was in the area.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Match Yuzu. First off, they charge a 2% extra fee for credit card payments. This is really frustrating, especially when you're already paying premium prices. It is not stated anywhere. The place is definitely overpriced for what you get. You’d think with a name like Matcha Yuzu, their signature drink would be matcha-based. But no, according to the barista, the "signature drink" is the Pineapple Americano (pineapple juice and a shot of espresso). When I asked if the pineapple juice was homemade, the answer was a no. So much for a unique or fresh experience!

The bakes looked unappetizing—stale and like looks like they been sitting out overnight.

Do not recommend and the staff didn't even...
