Nestled in the heart of Toronto downtown, Mildred's Temple Kitchen boasts a cozy ambiance and delightful culinary offerings that leave a lasting impression. Despite the inevitable wait, which can stretch up to 40 minutes, the restaurant's prime location and comfortable waiting area at West Elm make the anticipation bearable.

Upon stepping into the restaurant, guests are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, characterized by bright decor and thoughtfully arranged seating that avoids feeling cramped. The cozy vibe sets the stage for a memorable dining experience, further enhanced by the attentive service provided by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The culinary journey at Mildred's Temple Kitchen begins with the highly anticipated Mrs. Biederhof's Wild Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes, a signature dish that lives up to its reputation. The pancakes, delightfully fluffy and accompanied by a luscious blueberry compote, evoke a sense of culinary bliss. While the $20 price tag may seem steep, the impeccable quality and indulgent flavors justify the expense.

In addition to the standout pancakes, the menu offers a variety of options to satisfy different tastes. The egg omelette, while not particularly remarkable, delivers on taste with its well-seasoned flavors and satisfying texture. Similarly, the hand-cut fries, while simple in concept, impress with their freshness and tastiness, making for a satisfying accompaniment to any meal.

Despite the overall excellence of the culinary offerings, it's the blueberry pancakes that steal the show, leaving diners longing for another bite long after the meal is over. As such, many guests may find themselves returning to Mildred's Temple Kitchen solely for the pleasure of indulging in this delectable treat.

In conclusion, Mildred's Temple Kitchen offers a dining experience that exceeds expectations, with its charming ambiance, attentive service, and mouthwatering culinary creations. While the wait for a table may test one's patience, the end result is well worth it, as evidenced by the unforgettable experience of savoring Mrs. Biederhof's Wild Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes. For those seeking a truly exceptional dining experience, Mildred's Temple Kitchen is sure to satisfy, leaving guests eager to return time...

Came to Mildred’s for their winterlicious menu. To start, unfortunately when we went, we had to wait almost 45 minutes for a table despite having made a reservation. Once we were seated, we got greeted and served right away which alleviated a bit of that frustration in the beginning. The ambience of this place was not what I was expecting; the front of the place looked very nice with very good interior but the rest of the restaurant was warehouse/rustic vibes. Perhaps maybe the atmosphere is better during the day when there is sunlight but that was something that surprised me.

For the food, to start we got their crab cake and beet salad which were actually really good. The beet salad was so refreshing and all the flavours melted beautifully together. The crab cake had a wonderful crab taste that was not over bearing and I loved the sauce they provided. Onto the mains, we got the short rib and duck and waffles. The short rib was seasoned amazing and it was perfectly balanced with the bed of mashed cauliflower underneath it. It was unfortunately not cooked long enough as it was still slightly chewy and not tender. Despite that, everything about it was great. The duck and waffles were also amazing with all the flavours blending well together but once again, the texture of the waffle was chewy and not soft which made eating it a little bit difficult. Lastly, for dessert we had the profiteroles and cake. These were both well cooked and perfectly sweet, no complaints here. I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the drinks but they were good on the first sip, but after a while the taste decreased. These were not apart of the winter menu so it costs us more.

Overall, Mildred’s for their winterlicious menu was a decent spot. I do wish their service was a tad better, especially with the fact that we had a reservation. Their food was what I was expecting and for the price we paid, I do think we got good for it. Next time, I do want to try their brunch menu as I believe that is what...
