Mimico Bagel and Coffee — Restaurant in Toronto

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel like I should say something in case it helps others. I’ve actually never had the chance to try the food here — and not for lack of trying. I’ve come by three separate times now, really wanting to try their breakfast sandwiches and bagels, but it just hasn’t worked out.

The first time, I checked online and it showed they were open, but when I pulled up, the place was fully closed — lights off, doors locked. I even tried calling a few times that day and no one picked up.

The second time, I went in, looked at the menu, took my time, and when I finally went to order, I was told they weren’t doing those items that day.

The third time, I asked again about the breakfast sandwich and was told only the owner/manager makes them — and she just hadn’t shown up. Apparently, she was supposed to come the day before and still hadn’t come in. I asked when I could come to actually get one, and the person at the front just said, “Honestly, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe try again in a couple days?”

It’s frustrating because I really want to support this business and I still want to try the food — I’ve heard good things — but the inconsistency is discouraging. If you’re in a chill mood and just looking to maybe try something new, go for it. But if you’re coming with a specific craving or on a schedule, just be aware that it might not work out. I’m leaving this review just so people aren’t caught off...

The bagels and coffee here are excellent but the service needs significant improvement. Thr is an older Asian woman who may be the owner but she consistently comes across as rude & domineering to customers. Her manner of interaction often leaves much to be desired as she tends to act as though we are not paying customers. Sadly this isn't an isolated incident I have encountered ths behavior multiple times and several of my friends who are also locals have had similar experiences.

The other servers are quite pleasant and it would be great if she could follow thr example in providing more courteous service. It’s important to remember that the local community plays a crucial role in sustaining this business and a respectful and welcoming atmosphere is essential.

Additionally I suggest hiring more staff during peak hours to reduce wait times as they can be quite lengthy. It might also be beneficial to have more team members who are fluent in English as there is a perception among some of us that language barriers might be contributing to the perceived rudeness in overall enhancing the customer service experience would make this place even...

This neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. I moved in Mimico in 2022, had coffee from mimico coffee and bagel located opposite to the independent store. Be VERY ALERT WHEN BUYING EDIBLES, I have encountered so far two of their items expired and with the first incident that I reported to the girl who was working there, nothing happened. Next visit, another item was expired too, a lot of elderly people drink and eat there, I don’t think they check expiry dates. Please please check the expiry date before eating any of their packaged food items or cold drinks/beverages! This is deeply concerning that they sell expired items despite making complaint to them with the first. I am 100% sure that all of their other items must be expired and it is criminal offence to sell those, it could poison people esp our elderly people living in the neighbourhood. I am going to check back in a month or so if they are still carrying expired items, I will call food inspection agency or public health for sure. Meantime folks, be mindful and always check the expiry date!...
