Update : Fri May 20, 2023
Apparently on my initial visit I was misinformed about the sauces. The only complimentary sauce is the garlic sauce. If you ask them NO Garlic sauce then add a sauce like Tzatziki, they will charge you for it. i paid an additional $0.85 for Tzatziki. On my first visit, since I only had 1 sauce, tzatziki, i was not charged. I chose tzatziki due to it being lower calories vs the garlic sauce. A bit irritating. On this visit the chicken meat was dry..the tzatziki not enough to help the moisture in the dry chicken.
Date visited : Sunday April 09, 2023 Overall Rating for experience : 3/5
Comments : First time visiting this resto. It is newly opened like in the last 2 weeks.
Service : 4/5 Service was friendly enough, it wasn't that busy at the time of our visit.
Food : 4/5 We ordered 1 regular chimken shawarma wrap and 1 regular beef shawarma wrap. Order was ready within under 8 minutes give or take. However, my SO's beef shawarma wrap was leaning towards the cold side, we did see them place our wraps in the press, but was still not hot. The beef in her wrap didn't seem even warm to her. My chimken wrap was cold on 1 side where the veggies were..however, I've gone to the Osmow's on Military Trail, and my Chimken shawarma there is always hot when I unwrap it. The chimken shawarma meat was juicy tho and not dry. The price for the Chimken Shawarma wrap is $8.99 + HST and the Beef Shawarma wrap is $9.99. I got spice level mild on my chimken shawarma wrap..was just spicy enough for my tastes.. For those that like sauces, I found this out when I opted out of the garlic sauce which they use and requested Tzatziki instead (which I really liked). Since I opted out of the garlic sauce for the Tzatziki, since it was only 1 sauce, it was included..if I had the garlic sauce and the Tzatziki..I'd have to pay extra on the 2nd sauce.
NOTE : Due to managing gout, I am unable to review beef or pork protein foods. Along with Anything that has commercial baked bread, and asian dishes with soy sauce and oyster/hoisin sauce. Hence when I'm craving a sammich of some type, I'm limited to chimken wraps.
Drinks : We brought our own bottle of water, which we had filled with Brita filtered water from home.
Portion Size Value for Money Spent : 2/5 I docked some points off of this, due to the fact that we both found that the protein to veggie ratio was not balanced for the price we paid. There seemed to be more of the veggies and not as much of the protein. We usually found we receive more at the Military Trail n Morningside location. Since it's a bit further away for us, we don't go on the regular.
Worth a repeat visit : Yes, due to it being closer to us than the Morningside and Military...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at Osmow Shawarma, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel welcome. Located in a bustling part of town, Osmow Shawarma stands out with its vibrant and modern decor.
Let's talk about the star of the show—the food. Osmow Shawarma truly excels in its shawarma offerings. The menu offers a wide range of options, including chicken, beef, and falafel shawarmas. I opted for the classic chicken shawarma wrap, and it was outstanding. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The pita bread was fresh and warm, and the generous portions of veggies and sauces complemented the flavors beautifully. It was a truly satisfying and flavorful meal.
The restaurant also offers a variety of sides and appetizers. I tried their hummus and falafel, and both were excellent. The hummus had a creamy and smooth texture, while the falafel was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The flavors were authentic and well-balanced.
In terms of service, the staff at Osmow Shawarma were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They took the time to explain the menu and offered helpful suggestions based on my preferences. The food was served promptly, and the presentation was visually appealing.
The pricing at Osmow Shawarma is reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. You get great value for your money, and the portion sizes are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied.
One aspect that impressed me was the restaurant's commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. The dining area and the kitchen were both spotless, which added to the overall pleasant dining experience.
If I were to suggest an area for improvement, it would be the seating options. Although the restaurant had ample seating, the chairs were a bit uncomfortable for extended periods. However, this is a minor concern compared to the overall positive experience.
Overall, Osmow Shawarma is a fantastic restaurant that delivers delicious and authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. The flavorful shawarmas, excellent sides, friendly service, and reasonable prices make it a standout choice for anyone craving a satisfying meal. I highly recommend Osmow Shawarma to both shawarma enthusiasts and those looking to explore Middle Eastern flavors.

Read moreI had a doctor's appointment and noticed that there was an Osmow's in the same plaza when I pulled in. I was excited because I have heard of the restaurant but have never had a chance to eat there. I was good and hungry and ordered myself a lamb shawarma wrap with sticks added. (French fries in the wrap). $15, and what was handed to me seemed quite thin and small for the price. More than I've ever paid for any other Shawarma wrap I've ever had, and definitely the tiniest.
I went back to my car and started eating rather than driving home first. I was glad I did because a few bites in, I couldn't help but notice that I had yet to hit a single French fry. Since I was still in the parking lot, I went back in and mentioned this to the girl behind the counter. She asked to see the wrap, she took a look and said "oh I forgot" and immediately checked the shawarma into the garbage. I was shocked! I couldn't believe how thoughtless and wasteful it was. I would have happily accepted a side of fries and been on my way. "It's fine I'll make you a new one." Okay... Any other establishment like this that I go to, if they make a mistake, they usually allow you to keep the item and make you a new one in the correct way. I didn't feel entitled, but I never expected it would just go in the trash.
She quickly made a new wrap, I'll give her that, but again, this wrap was so thin, I think even thinner than the first. I got back to my car, and again took a few bites. Nothing. So I decided to deal with a mess and opened it up. 5 fries. FIVE! Not even all full sized. And they were ice cold. It cost $1.50 to add fries to your wrap. Unbelievable. There wasn't much of anything in it to be honest. And with or without the fries, I've had much better Shawarma elsewhere. I've gotta say, I don't know what all the hype is about. Not at all impressed, and no need to go back to this location, and likely any others. My money is better...
