Take it with a grain of salt as it was international shawarma day, but I've never seen such a disarray and chaos at a franchise restaurant. I'm not sure if they weren't prepared or if the organization went out the window, but if you can't handle app orders for a set time due to how busy the day is, you should just shut down option for the app.
I ordered with a scheduled pick up at 730pm. They didn't even have it on their radar. The storefront was packed with people waiting. No sign that app orders were too walk to the back of the restaurant to pick up their order, so some were just waiting in the storefront.
When I gave my name, they had to rifle through printed orders that the one girl, in charge of takeout/app orders, in the back hadn't even looked at. If I wasn't more vocal I would have waited probably an hour more for my pick up because they wouldn't have found it or called it.
Honestly, I think some of the staff was doing their best, but we're honestly not trained enough or experienced enough regarding this type of fast food service. Personally, I feel like there wasn't a sense if urgency that should come with this type of a rush. I have seen coffee places work faster. There should be some kind of production line - all tickets taped to the wall to be visible by scheduled time (for take out/app) so you know who gets the order first. Not a pile of tickets sitting on a table with no hint if who's order should be available first.
A couple who ordered later than I did on the app got their order faster than me because they were pushy and waiting longer even though their pick up was 741 compared to my 730.
My order was in hours ahead of time so not sure how it couldn't have been on their radar to be ready for that time period. People who walk in should expect to wait as first come first serve. Not something new. Especially with a special like this.
I scheduled a time so it would technically be more efficient. Food was average. They put way less fillings if not skimped on some (veggies) than you would normally get. It was an amount reflective of the $5 charge, which is sad cause of it was the normal amount of filling for the $5 you might win over new customers. I will likely go to an independent local over this franchise as they don't seem to keep to a specific standard for their product. Downtown Dundas Osmow's is by far better product and filling even for a regular price. So I definitely think it's up to management and cooks as to what products they're...
Read moreI can’t even begin to express how many times I have been disappointed by this osmows location and trust me I love osmows because I order it from other locations. I keep giving it another try thinking it might be one off incident but now I know for sure that’s it’s definitely the staff and management who could care less about service and food quality being served. First of all, the wraps are never properly toasted.I would have accepted it if I was getting delivered so it could have gone cold but even for pickups and dine in, it’s always cold and not toasted. And yesterday I just was done with this location because I ordered from their website. First thing, they have specifically greyed out additional comments for this location only saying “this location doesn’t accept special requests”. Secondly in my wrap for the toppings I didn’t select tomatoes so basically I selected the toppings I want except for tomatoe thinking maybe that will do it as that’s what I wanted to specifically mention in the comments which was greyed out. It was so cold outside and I walked and pickup. I come home and warm it up and as soon as I sat to eat , guess what wrap was full of tomatoes. When I called to complain the first explanation they gave was sorry we have a trainee and he probably messed it up like what if a person had serious allergies. They have done this before too where they gave my wife chicken wrap instead of falafel wrap and she has never ate meat in her life. When I went in person in the cold again to exchange my wrap, then they said we always prepare our beef with tomatoes. I mean I really wanted to write more because I am so frustrated and I have already talked to the manager about the previous incidents too but I guess it’s time for me to stop giving them chances and ruining my mood every time so definitely not ordering from here...
Read moreI ordered a lg chicken on the rocks extra hot w/ extra sumac powder on Sun, Jan 16 2022 & byfar the worst experience. Complete waste of $13.55. This location had two INCOMPETENT employees working. 1 female employee who CLAIMS she has been working for “1.5 years at this location” this worker was SO STINGY with the white garlic sauce and red hot sauce & sumac powder. The sauce was SO LITTLE the chicken and rice tasted SO DRY even though the rice of steaming hot. Even mixing this dish, both white garlic sauce & hot sauce was VERY INSUFFICIENT. This girl literally put no white sauce & hot sauce on my takeout order and it was byfar the worst experience. Im not sure how the manager is handling and instructing their employees but they were SO stingy with their ingredients I am so disappointed I wasted my time and hard earned money to eat that trash. Mind me, I have ordered the exact same thing from this very location in the past and was very satisfied but not this time. I will post photo of previous takeout order but the one I had ordered this past weekend was NOTHING compared to that. Never again Osmows Yonge & Eglinton. Please hire better staff & stop penny pinching and cheating your customers. We pay you the full dollar amount for your food, owe us the classic osmows experience with generous portion sizes & SAUCE. also keep in mind this location did NOT answer their phone after calling them NUMEROUS times to place an order. Do yourself a favour & avoid this location at all costs. 0 stars from me, you lost a...
