I moved to this neighbourhood about 13 years ago and discovered Phoenix within the first month. I started coming for their lunch specials because it was such a great value for the money and I always had almost double the food I really needed so it lasted me for the next day. Then that transitioned into ordering for my whole family and every single thing we’ve ordered in the past 13 years has been fantastic! You just can’t get this value anywhere else. The takeout boxes are so large and so stuffed with food that even after having a full serving, it still looks like the container is full. we were devastated when we heard that the building and lot had been sold for condos and that we were losing our go to takeout restaurant. Every time I come for takeout I ask if they’re going to be there the next month. I’m going to be really sad when I’m told that the construction is about to start and Phoenix won’t exist anymore. I am begging the owners to open up a new location. If you feel the same way demand that they relocate and leave a review! Maybe we can force them to open a new...
Read moreI don't understand how the few negative ratings coincide with the overwhelming majority of responses that love the Phoenix. You can surmise that what all the negative comments have in common is a vengeful tone. So you can infer what kind of people they may be. I have come here for over a decade and William and Peggy are only generous and hard working as well as humble. I often order the Shrimp Hakka Chow Mein and there is nothing that comes close to their Hakka Chow Mein that I have come across. The portions can feed two and the shrimp is the large kind (refer to photo) and not baby shrimp. My large workplace is excited for our Phoenix work lunches. William accommodates us in so many ways and is proud of his skillful cooking. My workplace loves the Phoenix. As someone previously stated, it is...
Read moreWe ordered 4 dishes. Fantastic value for money with generous portions. Sesame beef was definitely my favorite. The beef was soft and well flavored. The nasi goreng was surprisingly tasty. The ho fun noodles required more sauce but was tasty as well. Dai dop voy was a bit bland for my taste so I’ll order a better chicken dish next time. The ingredients are very fresh as well and the shrimp in both our dishes were huge! Overall this place would definitely be one of my go-tos. Their prices are unbeatable and the owner mentioned they haven’t increased the price in 5 years. It’s getting tough out there so please support them! Hope they don’t go out of business. p.s. there’s no...
