Okay, I'm not going to lie. I actually hate poke. I hate fish, I hate tuna, I hate tofu, I hate cold dinners, I hate mixing sweet/savoury sauces. But for some reason I was feeling adventurous today so I decided to try almost all of the above at once.
I chose delivery from this place on a whim because it had some good reviews. I wasn't expecting much honestly, mostly a "that's good but not my type of thing" reaction and a pat on the back to myself for trying it at all. I got chicken and tofu topped with shoyu sauce.
I wasn't surprised when it arrived that it looked amazing. What I was surprised about was that I LOVED it!
I've had poke bowls before with these exact ingredients and always hated them. I could NOT put this one down and I had to basically drag myself into not finishing it so I could save some for tomorrow. The sauce was delicious, the chicken was super tender, and the tofu wasn't overly earthy-tasting (which is why I normally dislike it). Even the miso soup was absolutely amazing and the fact I ate all the tofu in it says it all!
The only con of this place is that it's too far for me to walk to. But other than that, I can only give a glowing review for the food itself. The regular portion size is perfect to split between 2 meals if you're short like I am.
Amazing stuff, and I can't wait to order again. Maybe I'll even push myself to try the tuna!
P.S. I highly recommend getting the sauce "heavy", because the heavy sauce wasn't actually that heavy. I don't think the "medium" level would be enough unless you don't like sauce...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Pokeworks on Queensway, and I can confidently say it’s a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the perfect tone for my meal.
The menu offers a fantastic selection of fresh poke bowls, allowing for a customizable experience that caters to every palate. I opted for the signature bowl with a mix of salmon and tuna, topped with avocado, seaweed salad, and their house-made spicy mayo. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the freshness of the ingredients was truly top-notch.
What impressed me the most was the staff’s knowledge and enthusiasm. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and helped me navigate the various options, ensuring I created a bowl that I would love. The service was quick and friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
The ambiance was casual yet chic, making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends. I also appreciated their commitment to sustainability, with eco-friendly packaging that reflects their dedication to the environment.

Read moreDon’t pester me for a google review if you’re not gonna give me a masubi in exchange . The poke here is okay. I only keep coming back because there really are no other poke places in Etobicoke. if I’m ordering on the screen take it as a hint that I don’t want to interact. Anyway, good food but too customer servicy in your face. Also I hate how they say aloha at everyone who walks in. It’s the same reason I stopped going to firehouse, cause of their annoying greeting upon entry. Please read facial expressions if I have a scowl on my face plz don’t say ALOHA. If I’m smiling then sure say aloha if company policy requires it. But to be honest it’s almost more disrespectful to be yelled ALOHA at when I’m walking thru the doors hungry and on the verge of tears cuz I’m having a bad day. ALOHA feels like a further punch in the gut. What if I don’t want to be seen or acknowledged? Uh. Anyway the woman with the arm tattoo is nice and the Eastern European girl who once made my bowl when I came in before closing is also nice. Also they need to remove the phrase “my dear” from their vocabulary. I’m not your dear if you’re calling every other person who walks thru the door “your...
