We took our boys after school yesterday to the Queensway location as a treat for working hard in school and hockey and also as a late Valentine's Day lunch with my hubby. Our boys always enjoy going here as they love the biscuits! Service at the start was questionable. Our waitress's demeanour was unapproachable. She gave the impression she didn't want to serve us.
We proceeded with our orders, mac and cheese for boys and the special dinner for two $60 for my hubby and myself. Also asked for a side of mac and cheese for the kids and was faced with some questionable glares. Getting refills and reorder on biscuits was an uphill battle. At one point we were told the biscuits were in the oven and arrived approx 30 mins later.
The boys were served their food first and five minutes later our dinner for two came. Our meal had varying temperatures as some items were cold while others were lukewarm. The side order of rice was overcooked and cold. We assumed since it was a dinner for two it would come with two plates to share but had to ask for plates which came approx 7 minutes later. One had crusted old food particles showing on it so my husband set it aside and used the biscuit plate as his main plate. No one came back to our table as a follow-up to inquire on the meal or as a courtesy.
While I understand working in the food industry is extremely stressful and busy, returning customers is what restaurants strive on and should be treated with a modicum of respect. A family of 4 going out to eat especially at Red Lobster is not an inexpensive spend.
I asked our boys after their thoughts on their experience and was told 1) our server was not friendly 2) seems like they didn't want to give refills or replenish biscuits 3) it was not an enjoyable experience.
Our takeaway - both my husband and I agreed someone should have checked in just to see how our meal was and whether we needed anything else. We conceded that the server did not appreciate serving kids hence the cold...
Read more3 star not 5 on food for quantity and dining experience. . Always loved it here. . Had grilled scallops and shrimp. Was very good except disappointed on presentation. Serving a proper meal should include a star dish,a cooked veggie ,a carb always a raw veggie eg. salad or soup to start. Always water and bread on the table. Table set with cutlery before you sit down. Should go back to the days when coffee or tea was offered at the end of a meal. Make it a memorable experience of a wonderful dinner. Not just a place to graze while someone is tossing food at you. We all work hard for our money and when we choose to spend it on something special we want a place that is welcoming respectful. A place to relax and enjoy the experience. It's ridiculous to have to ask for every little thing. My plate looked like they threw on two sticks of seafood .on blank plate with a spoon of bland rice on the side..like I was going through a line up at a mess hall. Im sorry to say..They didn't bother to look twice at the picture. I know I'm just another customer and not important . But really? Since when did proper dining etiquette become so improper? It was embarrassing to see and to receive. The waitress was great Julie is very hard working ,she deserves a raise. When we needed water she was not rude. . The menu had changed. When I asked about a particular item I couldnt find it by the picture. She was kind to show it to me it was [n small print. . . I had to ask another employee walking by for water They were so kind. . I wanted to ask if there was a mistake with my order.. I really hate to complain. I get it .To avoid further embarrassment I left it alone. Another waitress came with some elses order to our table. Odd when we already received our meal. . Boy a lot has changed in the...
Read moreNot my first time at this location and it will definitely be my last.
We didn’t have to wait to be seated but the waiting game began as soon as we sat down.
The hostess mentioned our server would be right with us to take our drink order. After 10 min, the hostess came back and apologized and said our server would be with us shortly. After 20 min, she finally came and said “Oh no one took your order. I’ll help you guys. What would you like?” Like we weren’t seated in her section.
After taking our initial drinks and food order. It took another 15 min for measly fountain drinks. After she brought us our drinks, it took another 30 min before we got our food. Another server dropped it off at our table. After that our server was never checking up on us. She would only come every 30 min or so. We ordered endless shrimp and she was making it endless. After finishing our plates we would have to wait at least 10 min before she would come check up on us and put in our orders for refills.
Managers or supervisors kept walking back and fourth, when I finally got the attention of one to mentioned my concerns. She misunderstood me and refused to offer any compensation. She kept apologizing and said I hope you come back soon. I flat out told her I’d never be back. This is the worst service ever and your not doing anything to rectify an unsatisfied customer. Why should I come back?
What happened to customer service? I’m not sure if it’s new management cause the male manager used to fix things right on the spot when you weren’t satisfied.
I’ll stick to Red Lobster Niagara Falls cause the service is outstanding and definitely...
