Kiokii and... — Local services in Toronto

I visited Kiokii location at Sherway Gardens today and had one of the most disappointing experiences, and I honestly wish I could give this place -10 stars. From the moment I walked in, a staff member followed me around like a dog, hovering over me as if I was just there to steal. I completely understand that shoplifting is a huge issue in retail—I worked in the industry for three years myself—would never do that to any store but there’s a difference between being vigilant and making a paying customer feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I had to buy just 6-7 items and I was holding it in my hands, yet the unnecessary surveillance didn’t stop while I browsed. To make matters worse, the same staff member who had been watching me so closely ended up checking me out, and her attitude was just as unpleasant at the register. I told her I didn’t need a bag, yet she still proceeded to grab one. When I repeated that I didn’t want one, she rudely told me that I had said yes. She then awkwardly fumbled with the register, realizing she hadn’t even charged me for a bag in the first place because, as I had already said multiple times, I DO NOT NEED A BAG! Her lack of basic customer service skills, from cashing out properly to simply speaking respectfully, was beyond frustrating. If this is the kind of staff Kiokii is hiring, it’s no surprise people would rather shoplift than deal with this kind of treatment!! Customers return for good service, not for this type of hostility. I will definitely not be returning to the Sherway Gardens West...

If you check the previous comments about this store employees being racist, condescending and rude it is so true. I spend 100s of dollars each time I go in.

Last time I went there someone claiming to be a store manager accused me of stealing a jewelry (as I am waiting by the checkout to purchase 2 different earrings and some other items— make it make sense)

She had no proof other than me taking a look to this one bracelet. She yelled at me in front of other customers and embarrassed me. I asked her to call the mall security because I felt so uncomfortable. She ended up apologizing for her behavior but that doesn’t change the fact that she ruined my day at that point.

This location is the best. She also said “some customers accidentally take the stuff and forget to put it back, you can tell us” like what?

Completely avoid this location.

Racist and prejudiced do not go there unless you love being treated like a thief although you're spending your money with them, I was there with my girlfriend I happen to be of visible minority and so is my girlfriend, we had them following us the whole time but we ignored it although IT WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE. We settle for these earrings pick them up carrying them mind you we're still being followed, all of a sudden this girl walks up to us handing us a basket stating in an agressive manner and i quote "USE THIS". I took the basket while being shocked by her tone and behavior as she walked away while other (white) customers carrying even smaller items were not told to use the basket, we go through check out and pay, she tosses the receipt in the counter with no bags or anything. I tell her can we have a bag please she then tosses it on the counter as well as rolling her eyes, all three of them have the same rude racist energy....
