I went in to try their shutki and asked if they carried different variations because I wanted to compare them. Instead of helping, the lady at the front (in hijab) took the shutki I brought with me from Ghorra (another spot down the street), opened it up, shoved her nose in it, and started loudly sniffing it like it was some kind of inspection. Then she actually took it to the back kitchen completely out of view and started talking about it to others in the kitchen like, “This is what Ghorra is selling?” It was so unprofessional and honestly extremely unhygienic. Not even Street food spots in Bangladesh wouldn’t do something like that. Super weird and made me feel uncomfortable.
On top of that, the shutki dishes I did order came out frozen. Not fresh at all, tasted like it had been sitting in a freezer for days.
Also, the seating area is full of people who aren't even eating just hanging out, loudly talking, almost like a community center. It’s hard to enjoy a meal with that kind of noise and chaos around you.
Overall, worst Bangladeshi restaurant experience I’ve had on Danforth. Definitely...
Read moreThis is a family indian restaurant. Very simple and you could tell that it is family operated. The owner works at the front. The restaurant is very simple and there is nothing outstanding about it. Some would say this place is unkempt but that's because the owner is himself just a small operator trying to make a living for his family.
This is not an easy restaurant to find. It's pretty much in an old strip of the danforth. I ordered the chicken biryani and mango lassi. The chicken biriyani was for 5.99 which is an amazing price for those craving indian food but at a tight budget. the mango lassi was pretty good too. For those that can't take spicy, get the lassi as well for $2.
Don't forget to get their naan too. They are freshly oven baked and they are amazing.
If I am in the area and I am looking for indian food,...
Read moreWe waited over 2 hours patiently for biryani and it was still uncooked. For the money the quality went down!! Also, the owner was talking to this L guy and the guy seemed like giving a speech like Bengali politicians. It was not annoying. We told owner and the lady who was working there 3x if food was ready and after close to 1.5 reminder them we were waiting, they went to check and still forgot our orders. Then they gave us the wrong order and chicken biryani was chicken curry mixed with rice… so awful and we were starving… so ate and never going back! We are a regular customer, go there at least 2X a month. We will going to Adda at least the owner is available and service is amazing!! May be u guys can learn something about running the...
