My friend and I visited RH Resturant for the first time on Feb 11th, it was a remarkable and enjoyable dinner. I have heard of this restaurant before, never been, seen the interiors and everything about it, classy and beautiful. First the interior design with the furniture gallery to entertain you as you wait for your table is so wonderful. I was perplexed, shocked in a good way of everything I saw and so happy to how outstandingly beautiful it is, and I will be visiting the gallery again for sure. The restaurant interior is so comfortable and fancy, it goes well with the vibes and the great customer service provided through out my dinner experience (10/10). Started with Shrimp Cocktail and Crispy Artichoke, I fell in love with the Crispy Artichoke with the rosemary aioli sauce. The combination with some potatoes in it, yummy and delicious that my taste buds were so happy (10/10). Ordered Salad and Entree together, I will 100% recommend the salad I had, which is the Gem Lettuce Salad with perfect amount of buttermilk herb dressing, avocado, feta cheese and radish. It was a light and went smooth with my Entree (10/10). For my Entree, I had the Roasted Half chicken and it melted in my mouth. Chicken is tricky to cook, it can be tough or dry, but this came out juicy and it remained juicy, melting in my mouth with the mashed potatoes purée with natural Jus sauce and confit garlic. The balance of flavour, nothing overwhelmed each other and it was perfect (10/10). The quantity of the food is perfect, not too much and not too light, right on the point to fill you up for some room for dessert. Customer service is outstanding, my server kept checking in my table and when we were comfortable with our location, once there was a better table, with the manager, we were moved for comfort and we really appreciated it so much. Thank you so much (10/10, so sad I forgot the name of server and the manager on the floor that night, but I am really grateful). Price wise, it is a classy restaurant that is a bit expensive but not too expensive that it isn’t affordable. Whether the price is high or low on the menu, the quantity that comes out for the food is maintained and enjoyed throughout the menu. It is 100% worth it, even if it is one time, I recommend to try and have the best experience. Must also see the furniture gallery experience 🥰. My friend and I will for sure be back again, thank you for making our first experience outstanding and the best. We can’t wait to...
Read moreThe food here was quite good. Customer service was terrible! My friend ordered the roasted chicken and I had the Grilled Branzino. both dishes were delicious and we were satisfied with the quality of the meal.
That being said, the restaurant’s rules and the customer service left a lot to be desired. I had a 6:45pm reservation for three people. I knew my friends would be late, but I got off work early and thought I could arrive a bit ahead of time, check in, and enjoy a drink while waiting. Instead, I was told to sit on the sofa at the entrance. I waited patiently, only to notice that multiple guests who arrived after me were being seated. After about 20 minutes, I asked the host if I was still waiting to be seated. Only then was I told that the policy is to seat the table once all members of the party have arrived.
I completely understand if this is the restaurant’s rule, especially if they are busy, but it should be communicated clearly either at the time of booking or when checking in. If I had known, I would have happily spent that time elsewhere in the mall instead of just sitting at the entrance doing nothing.
The attitude of the host also felt dismissive — she simply said “once your friends arrive, you can go in.” When my friends did arrive, she handed three menus with barely a word and gestured us in, which felt rather unwelcoming. Even my friend commented that it didn’t feel like we were being invited into the restaurant.
Once seated, the service continued to be very slow. We waited quite a while for someone to take our order, and later also for the bill. When it came time to pay, we weren’t even asked if we wanted separate checks, which felt a little presumptuous for a fine dining place.
Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the lack of communication about the seating policy and the poor service made the experience frustrating. At the very least, guests should be informed of the rules ahead of time, and treated with a bit more warmth and respect. Otherwise, it just feels like a waste of time, and I couldn’t even have the drink I originally...
Read morePrice point is definitely higher but stays true to the atmosphere you expect at Yorkdale. Given that you seem to turn a corner and walk straight down the hallway towards their isolated venue in Yorkdale, the interior design speaks for itself.
It's definitely a beautiful spot for fancy functions and just a great celebratory venue. Chandeliers hanging between a fantasy/enchanted forest color tone of their furniture amongst plants and leaves. Muted notes and shades of grey and blue, it really is eye catching and a spot where you'll like to experience a dine in once even though you know it'll be a bit more expensive.
That being said, I find that the shared plates are quite decent in terms of portion for the price. The mains are smaller than average at that price point, or rather, there's no sides that comes with the main meal and you'll have to add on for a price.
Smoked Salmon Platter 4/5 - smoked flavours were subtle but definitely paired nicely with the quite sour pickled veg and salty capers. The addition of their parsley provides a freshness to the dish. Sourdough was too dry for my liking though.
Fried Artichokes 4/5 - quite a taste dish of salt and unami, and the artichokes were fried to a point where it's similar to eating fried kale in terms of texture. I do wish there was a bit more soft flesh from the artichokes. Otherwise, paired nicely with the garlic aioli.
RH Burger 3.5/5 - not a bad burger per se, but nothing spectacular that makes me want more. Basic and well balanced.
Lobster Roll 3.5/5 - another well composed dish with fresh lobster chunks. Nothing that was exceptional and is rather small for the price. It wasn't heavily seasoned nor was there too much sauce, which makes it more appealing and not heavy as you may get from lobster rolls.
Truffle Fries 4/5 - great amount of truffle and parmesean. Well coated and seasoned nicely. Comes with a truffle aioli to enhance the truffle flavours but not necessarily required. Overall nice dish but once cold fries weren't as appealing given they were the thing cuts.
Coffee was nice. Chai was...
