I was at this bar last week and i want to echo a review that was just left on google - as your establishments response to the previous review is blatantly untrue.

My review is as follows -

I was really disappointed at the service. majority of the servers were dismissive and uninterested except the bartenders. It took us a really long time to order and get our food and drinks and each time we ordered we had to flag our server down since she never checked on us.

On top of that, ONE of my friends was waiting outside to enter for 45 minutes in the cold and was not even allowed to wait in the corridor. If there are times that people are not allowed to enter the bar it should be visible on multiple platforms or channels and if people still are not catching that, then maybe this bar should invest in a website that has this information clearly stated as a lot of people were complaining about the same issue (If multiple people are unaware or complaining about the same thing, it is an issue). Its just not humane to leave people outside in this freezing weather.

There were about 10 people waiting outside for 20 min and my friend was the first in line. After 20 min everyone left coz noone wanted to wait in the freezing cold and were all unaware of this transition time rule. Once everyone left, only my friend remained and she waited for 30 minutes more coz they wouldn't let her enter even tho she was the only one left. I requested all the staff for help but none of them were empathetic, till i requested the bartender and he was the only one to actually help.

In conclusion i just want to say that, yes your bar has probably the best vibe and atmosphere but that's not the only thing that matters. train your service to be more hospitable, take constructive criticism with humility, make your rules more public and humane - and be flexible when needed.

(noone threatened to leave a bad review, only requests were made to let our one friend waiting outside alone in the cold to be able to enter or atleast wait in the corridor so she...

This review of mine will be the most complex one yet. I come here a lot during the day to work on my laptop, hang out, meet some friends and grab a coffee and snacks.

The coffee is OK, not amazing. The pricing is on the higher side of downtown ranges.

The food is below average and not worth the price. I’d rather go to a few other cafés in the neighbourhood that have amazing sandwiches and other food options for the same price if not, cheaper!!! I understand they are updating the menu frequently, which is a good sign and I will continue to support…cause I’m that nice and love to strengthen my hood.

Their service on the other hand just like how many others have mentioned in the reviews is horrible and getting worse. From the guy at security guard who is somewhat bipolar? He’s very nice and chatty chatty and then forces you to do code check while I’m cold and I wanna have my jacket on for a few more minutes. He doesn’t seem to understand basic business and human interactions.

There is another girl that works here who is a bit on the taller side, and acts like a ball buster. Yes exactly, like one of those people who’s a hit miserable and passes that on to others!

When people make time to go somewhere and spend money, they expect utmost prestigious service. Nigel, you must train your stuff better and possibly pay them more. There is a trend with the staff here, you can tell, they have similar attitude, sometimes rough on the edges, not warm and welcoming. Are offensive.

I usually order a few things every time I’m here and I’ve probably spent more than a few thousand dollars overall and recently I’ve stopped paying tip and their attitude has gone even worse. It’s as if they only...

I was really excited to go to 915 Dupont after reading, really good reviews about it. It’s a cafe by day and a bar by night and then they have Saturday night parties after 9 PM and everything is really nice and vibey. The atmosphere is great. However, The staff was extremely rude and really slow in getting drinks. They also messed up our order a couple of times and got different portions of the same drink at two different points which was weird. There is a tall Asian lady that works service there who is really rude. I asked her if she could please bring us a chair because there was a lot of extra space next to our table, so we were trying to accommodate another person and she just looks at me and rudely tells me I can’t do another chair which was strange. You’ll just have to figure it out (with a straight deadpan face). There were plenty of unoccupied chairs. We waited upto 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive each time, and if we tried to go to the bar, the wait time was even more. The bartenders repeatedly messed up our orders too. We were not able to get drinks at the bar and they said we’ll come to the table and take orders, but they were not showing up. All my friends started getting impatient because they couldn’t get drinks in time, and so we had to leave. the DJs were great. The music was awesome. Dance party was great, but I feel like there is this entitled behaviour that the staff was showing which was uncalled for, and it sucks coz the place is so nice. Also, the first espresso martini they brought out was literally 4 sips. Later, they increased the portion. It was inconsistent especially when you’re paying upwards of $18-$19 for their...

This is the coolest place I’ve ever been. I don’t mind telling you…I did NOT feel cool enough to be in this place but I felt way cooler when we left and I could say I’ve been here. It felt like a speakeasy had a baby with a coffee shop had a baby with a Japanese garden. Initially, we drove right by the building. If you don’t know it’s there you won’t know it’s there. Then we walked in and thought we were in the wrong place. Eventually we walked through the curtain and it was like stepping into a Narnia situation. Jazz music flowed from old vinyl records, sweeping across mismatched sofas, chairs and tables, some laden with beautiful chess sets. A bar stands in the middle of the dimly lit space, giving the whole room a sense that you’ve been transported back in time. Laptops are not welcome (at least on weekends) forcing patrons to talk, laugh and connect. How wild. The matcha latte we ordered at the bar is probably the best I’ve ever had. Despite its difficulty to find, for those not in the know, it is clearly loved by the locals. The spot was bumping and we had to wait a bit for a seat but we were so intrigued we weren’t getting our drinks to go. We weren’t super clear on if food was served here or if the location becomes an actual bar in the evening but we’re excited to go back and experience more.

I was disappointed with my experience at Rooms Coffee. My friend and I drove all the way from Scarborough, paid over $10 for parking, and spent another $15 on drinks, only to leave feeling frustrated. The cafe’s Instagram story advertised that it would be open until 6 PM, which is why we made the trip. We arrived at 4 PM after a long drive and parking search, excited to sit down and enjoy the space. However, shortly after settling in, we were informed that the cafe was closing at 4:30 PM. When I asked the barista about the hours posted on Instagram, they apologized and said that other locations might be open until 6 PM, but this one wasn’t. While I appreciated the polite response, it was still frustrating to have made such an effort based on misleading information. The experience left us disappointed. If the cafe plans to change its hours, I strongly recommend updating all communication channels to reflect accurate information. It’s unfortunate to leave customers feeling like their time and money weren’t valued.

2025 February 3.5★ A Japanese style Cafe by day, bar playing some funky tunes by night. Small dance floor just in front of the DJ area. Walk inside and you feel right at home. Just enough nostalgia and closeness of cushions, tables and space that's decorated like Interior Chinatown (from Netflix) but really interior Japan. $10 cover + taxes (strange) after 9pm, $15 cover. Mandatory coat check $3 because it's very cozy inside and can fill up quickly. Drinks range from about $15 to $22 which are on the higher end. #5 Flor de cana 7yo, earl grey, brown sugor, ginger, angostura, lemon $20 It's ok. Some subtle sweetness and earl gray flavors. #8 Jameson, hojicha, lemon oil, lavender $20 A stronger drink with hojicha flavors and flakes on top. Not bad. Yuzu Highball $17 Yuzu Sake & Soda. Simple sweet drink. Finding the right Music genre is always difficult. Here, it's upbeat music, none of those top 50 songs, none of those I even know. Though it's ok. Would stop by for coffee.
