📍Rooster Coffee @Toronto, ON 🖤好食 (quality):😋😋😋 🤍環境 (environment): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🤎服務 (service): 💗💗💗💗💗 I found another Toronto cafe very appropriate for working/studying/chatting with friends! They serve lattes, pastries and some food too! 😚Honestly, I love their latte menu, they have the usual menu items like Matcha latte but also quite a few that are pretty unique, like the Walnut Green Tea Latte. 🤩They have two levels of seats + outdoor seating for customers to enjoy their coffees/pastries. This time, I got… 🍵Walnut Green Tea Latte 🍵 If you like nuts flavour, this is definitely for you! 🤪I got it with no sugar and it was pretty heavy nutty flavour, in love with it! The green tea also followed after the nutty flavour. 😎 ✨Raspberry Pistachio Fruity Pie ✨ I got their fruit pie as I was craving something sweet for today! The pastry part was a little hard for me and tasted not so fresh. 🫠But the fruit jam part of the pastry was heavy on the raspberry flavour and very refreshing in taste! It was pretty big portion too so it is great to share it between two people! 😆 🫐Blueberry Chia Oats 🫐 It was a great idea to get this! I believe that they got it from the Village Juicery. It was not so sweet and the oats were so crunchy! 🤓There were also some pumpkin seeds mixed in the oats! 🙃The blueberry jam at the bottom of the jar was not so sweet! Overall, it was a very yummy treat! ☺️ They have very fast wifi that does not need password to connect, which is great! They also have cute interior design and comfortable seatings for people to come by and sit for a while! Their service was also very fast and great! 💞Thank you for the yummy treats!✨

It is crowded (mostly people on their laptops), the location is not ideal and it’s at a weird intersection (not easy to find), the cups they serve you in still carry stains from the previous drink (my friends and I noticed that, I wouldn’t have pointed that out if it had just been my cup), the people working there don’t seem to enjoy working there (probably the management’s fault), you need a key to go to the bathroom, you are not given any tray to put your order on, so you have to take each item one by one, push the heavy door, put the item on your table outside, pull the heavy door, take another item, push the heavy door, etc. No staff member will even hold the door for you. Also when you enter the cafe, you see the staff working in an island that faces the door. So you think you should just go straight and order, right? Wrong! You have to walk around the island to order your food from the same staff! It’s not a complaint, it’s just counterintuitive.

This café is a few minutes’ walk away from Bloor-Yonge station and has plenty of tables and seating indoors. The place got pretty busy while I was there on a weekend morning, but there was still lots of places to sit both at the main floor and upstairs. Would definitely come back here and can easily recommend this place for anyone looking for great coffee and atmosphere to spend your time in. The interior has a kind of cozy vintage library vibe with a mix of different finishes like wood and marble. They have a pretty big selection of pastries and other food options along with their beverage menu to try. I had a flat white, and it had an espresso-forward flavour rounded out by the silky smooth milk - one of the best I’ve had in the city.

I visited Rooster very often, I have always had good experience. Today i visited around noon (Feb 10 2025 around 1230pm) and I accidentally dropped my muffin right after I paid for it. I was trying to ask if they could give me an exchange for a new one. Lady A didn't say no so I gave her the muffin and she threw it away. Another lady B came with an attitude as if I was trying to rip them off, saying I will have to pay for a new one. I told them if they had told me about paying for a new one, I wouldn't have gave my muffin to lady A. Lady B just kept on shrugging and said its not their issue because I was the one who dropped it.

I wasn't trying to rip them off, I was just inquiring if I could get an exchange. It's fine if I didn't get a new one for free, I would have paid for a second one. I just don't understand why the two ladies talked to me as if I came in here to try to take advantage of them.

I did end up getting a new one though, after the second lady told me many many times that it was my fault and they don't give out free exchange, and that i really should pay. Her attitude made me really sad and I don't think I will ever recommend this place to anyone again. She could have just nicely tell me, sorry we can't give you a new one and I will accept it no questions asked. Why did you tell me I will need to pay for a new one after you throw my muffin away without saying anything? And then keep on attacking me with your tone before you give me that new one?

That very special, once-in-a-lifetime kindness, charity work walnut zucchini muffin the lady gave me didn't taste good. I wish anyone visiting this cafe don't run into these ladies and experience what I...

Abnormally slow service and they have gotten the order wrong more than once without clarifying then they expect you to pay for their mistakes. Not a place to go if you want quick and efficient service.

If a customer is in a rush and has been waiting in a huge line while the staff are casually chatting and taking their time, you don’t make the customer go back to the register after giving them the wrong order to pay an extra 60 cents. That is such a waste of time and just bad customer service. Another time I asked for a sweetener in my coffee and it was not added. They did not say no when I asked, ordered and paid. When I asked them to fix it they had the nerve to say I could do it myself because it’s supposed to be self serve for a $6 coffee… they eventually fixed the order but not without additional time wasted on arguing with them when they could have just done it right in the first place or acknowledged and fixed their mistake without the pushback.

As many other reviews have mentioned, it’s about the attitude you get from THEM when THEY make a mistake. I tried to support this local business because I live next door but it’s honestly better to just go...
