Royaltea (Midland Finch) — Restaurant in Toronto

Went here for the first time because my girlfriend received a free drink for her birthday. Service seemed okay until it was our turn to order. My girlfriend was not sure where her Vicinity Rewards Card was so she can receive her birthday drink. She asked the cashier if she can provider her phone number that is on her card in order for the cashier to look her profile up because we went to other stores that accept Vicinity Rewards Cards, and they were able to input her phone number and find her profile. The cashier refused and said that they do not accept phone numbers to receive points or search her profile. At this time we stepped out of the line in order not to cause a line up while we look for her card. Once we found her rewards card, we tried to tap so they can see her profile on their system. We tried three times and it did not work. THEN!!! the cashier asked for her phone number to find her profile. If she just did this in the first place we would of never had to step out of line and have 3 other people order ahead of us causing us to wait even longer for our order. The cashier was just rude and gave attitude. Even my brother who ordered before us said that the cashier was just rude. This was our first experience and it was terrible. Thankfully we emailed their service email to provide them with our feedback since it stated on our receipt to provide them with feedback on their service. Unfortunately, I had to change the ending of my first review stating that their service team helped us out. They promised two free drinks and yet we have not received anything. First & Last time going here. Went on Sunday January 13th, 2019 at around 6pm or 7pm. Lets start off with the cashiers name her name is SONA. Rude attitude from the start. My friend tried to order Durian drink & she said they don't have Durian. Also, I have a free birthday drink from Vicinity/FiveStar & told her that & she told me to tap my card. I told her I don't have my card but I can give her my phone # & then she rudely told me that she can't take my phone # to search me to redeem my drink. BUT I've been giving my phone number to all locations that have Vicinity/FiveStar when I don't have my card and they always take it. But the cashier SONA had a problem with that for some reason. So i got out of line & started searching everywhere in my wallet for the card, thankfully I found it! I had to line up once again & told her I found my card she told me to tap it. So i tapped it and she was like "ugh it froze tap it again but only once or else it'll freeze" while she eyerolled. I tapped once and it wasn't working. She sighed so loud THEN SHE ASK FOR MY PHONE NUMBER to search me up!!! When she CLEARLY said they don't do that in the beginning. So me having my card was useless overall. I gave her my phone number and she was rude from beginning to end all annoyed, eyes rolling, sighing. Then rudely took my order and gave me my receipt and a beeper to wait for my birthday drink. & keep in mind I was redeeming A BIRTHDAY DRINK!! How I evaluate places is, shop aesthetic, drink and food taste/choices, price, portion, and customer service.

The interior design of the place is quite lovely. The aesthetic is pleasing to the eye once you walk in. Very spacious and smells good. (+ 1 star)

They have quite a vast menu. I tried a few other things, and their drinks are good but it's nothing I can't make at home or can't live without. However, one drink really stuck out to me. I really love their Galaxy Mango Mousse Tea. That's the only thing I ever get there. This is a unique taste only found in this brand of bubble tea. (+.5 star)

Their drinks are also expensive compared to portion so I only come here occasionally. (-1 star)

The portion sizes are also not that great anymore because it got smaller compared to last year. (-1 star)

Customer service at this location could also be improved. They're very meek most the time I go, and sometimes they can be rude or lazy. Just today, I asked for my drink to be mixed and they refused and said to 'just shake it'. They had a stick in their hand too which could be used to quickly mix and then wash. (-1 star)
