There were not many people when we went to this store to order a bubble tea, the service was quick. In total, our drink costed around 7 CAD incl taxes for a large fresh milk earl grey bubble tea.
Price point is pretty average for Toronto compared to other bubble tea stores, though other stores have regular promotions for tea of the month/week where a large bubble tea typically go for cheaper around 5-6 cad incl taxes for a large bubble tea. I did not see royal tea have this kind of promotion at the time I went to purchase the drink, so actually this place is more expensive compared to other bubble tea stores in Toronto factoring promotions.
In terms of quality is where this store was super disappointing and the reason for the low rating. The fresh milk earl grey bubble tea we ordered tasted so watered down with barely any tea flavour in it, or fresh milk. I would estimate they must have used at least 70 percent of the cup as plain water. The tapioca was the only redeeming factor, it's chewy and unsweetened which is good for health conscious ladies.
As this store is more expensive than other stores in Toronto for bubble tea due to no promotions here, and the quality is also worse, I'm afraid I will not be coming back...
Read moreOne of my favourite bubble tea places. First I wanted to mention that the brûlée bobo is my favourite bubble tea. It is very delicious; so sweet with a nice foam on top, and the crème brûlée bits at the top are so crunchy. Definitely a luxurious drink.
I also want to mention how excited I was when I first found out that they had onigiri! There is a deal where you can get 1 for $3.99, 2 for $7.49, or 3 for $9.99, and I can’t lie, their onigiri is so good that I would always get the 3 deal. Sometimes I would save the last one for a snack later, while most times I would eat all 3 because it’s just that good. I will admit however, I only ever tried the Spicy Salmon Onigiri and just stuck with it because I was absolutely in love. I am sure the other flavours are delicious as well, but unfortunately I didn’t get around to giving them a chance.
I used to work in the mall and would often get lunch here, and now that I am not in the area I find myself missing both brûlée bobo’s and spicy salmon onigiri. I wanted to quickly mention that the service here is also very good. Really fast at making drinks, and my drink is always delicious and...
Read moreFirst time drinking bubble tea from Royal Tea. Located within STC. The bubble tea shop has a small seating area. In one of their windows, they have a slew of colorfully designed bear bottles. You can also order at the touch screen machine or order at the counter
I ordered their $9.99 special which is a regular original bubble tea and 2 of any flavor onigiri. For the onigiri, I got the Wagyu and Chicken Teriyaki flavors.
The original bubble tea had ice in it, which was good and a super hot day which was today. The boba was smaller than other boba from other bubble tea shops. The boba was soft and chewy. The tea itself wasn't that super sweet, like how Coco's 100% sugar level was (it's just straight sugar).
The Wagyu onigiri was delicious and savory, as was the Chicken Teriyaki onigiri. Salty and somewhat sweet flavors mixed within my mouth. Was a great snack to have with my bubble tea. Felt satisfying to consume on such a hot day.
Would probably go here again to try some other bubble tea flavors and maybe some of their other "sushi" options (not real sushi, but...
