Second Cup Café — Restaurant in Toronto

My experience with the Mocha Frappuccino at Second Cup was nothing short of frustrating. I went in expecting a refreshing, indulgent treat—something smooth, creamy, and bursting with that signature mocha flavour. Instead, what I got was a bland, watery mess that tasted like it had been thrown together with zero care or attention. It was honestly insulting to call it a frappuccino.

What made it worse was the response when I brought it up. I wasn’t rude—I calmly explained that the drink didn’t taste right and was clearly off. But instead of owning the mistake or offering to fix it, the staff treated me like I was being picky or unreasonable. No apology. Just a dismissive attitude that said, “That's how we usually make it.” as a way explaining that's normal and take it away! After I must repeat the same thing, one of other girl remade by put extra ice and blend, but still worse as hell after all.

That kind of service is unacceptable. If you're charging premium prices, I expect premium quality and, at the very least, respect when I voice a valid complaint. Second Cup, if you want people to keep choosing you over the competition, you need to seriously step up—not just your drinks, but...

I used to go to this location all the time pre pandemic as it is in the area of my workplace. The guys that worked there were super friendly and personable. I used to get a vanilla bean hot chocolate and they would also add whipped cream and some other things. Post pandemic the same hot chocolate isn't as good with new staff and whip cream isn't offered right off the bat. Two weeks ago I saw they had butter tarts which one of colleague loves and I waited in line. There was no big signs posted or the staff there occasionally mentioning cash only and when I finally got to the register there was a tiny sign stating on the pinpad that it was not working excepting cash only. I didn't have cash on me and most people don't carry it post pandemic. I was disappointed for waiting in line for nothing. The staff currently there aren't mean, they are nice, but just not what it used to be prepandemic both service and quality. I will still give it a try again as there are very few...

This Cafe is in the middle of a food court, and is just the wrong vibe/atmosphere. I ordered here because I love Second Cup's drinks, they are my favourite. However, this Cafe deserves it's own space, where u can sit, comfortably sip your latte and read, or work on your laptop. It's also so far away from the other restaurants in the food court. It's weird because the mall advertises it's self as high end, just because of it's location. I can tell less than 20% of the confos above and around are occupied. The set up just doesn't make sense. Also, my servers could not remember the name of the blue butterfly drink. But I'll forgive her because if I had to work at that location, I would zone out too. Richer does not...
