So we just ordered two chicken rice and one with salad, they made the wrong order and had one with fries with salad. We told them we didnt want fries we only want rice. At first one staff argued with us that if we wanted salad they always come w fries ( which was not true so I went ahead and pointed out whwre the menu said “shawarma chicken with rice/ fries + salad), which clearly indicated that we could choose rice + salad. And when my bf ordered he def said two chicken RICE with one adding salad. The other staff was nice and told us that they were gonna fix the order so dont worry. He was nice and friendly so we didnt have any complaints with him.
The chicken rice itself was good, but heres the part that I suspected the person argued with us earlier did some revenging of his kind. How do we know? the original order (chicken rice) was so good and the sauce was all balanced and tasty. The one (with salad) he remade however, was SPICY AS HELLLLLLLLLLLLL! theres def a big difference between the two and that one was nearly inedible.
And what does this teach me? I could not deny that the food was great and I believe people who love super spicy could def ask for extra and extra extra hot sauce. But next time if they made an incorrect order I will just have to politely accept it and order another one with rice as I hate eating fries with shawarma :)
(the photo one was the one so good and edible and not spicy as hell)
P.S. we asked for the same sauce level and everything for both. So unless they dont do good in consistency Im telling you that staff definitely did a big revenge on us, both tasted COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! One was err just a little tickling spicy, very mild, dont need to drink any water or anything. The other was omg my tears my sweat and I actually could not eat after one spoon and had to run to a convenience store for drink with...
Read moreThe food here is far from authentic and average at best. It was my first visit and surely the last. There are very clear red flags I should have noticed before ordering.
But it was the only restaurant open in the area at 1:00 AM that is not fast food, so I figured why not. I should have driven up to Lawrence where many shawarma options can be found with much higher standards.
First is the parking lot with a huge gaping pot hole in the middle of the entrance. The rest of is clearly in need of repair. It can't be that hard to get the hole patched.
Next is certain things being promoted, like butter chicken shawarma, which obviously isn't authentic to middle eastern cuisine. Coupled with that is the staff of international Indian students with thick accents.
The chicken shawarma plate I received had chicken shredded up almost to the extent of ground chicken, yet it came off of a spit. Nearly all authentic establishments give you much thicker cuts.
Then it was slathered with two liquidly garlic sauces and hot sauce. No hummus was provided. It also came with thick pieces of tomatoes and cucumbers, and the usual pickles and turnips, but no lettuce. Kind of an odd 'salad'. I had much better salads at other establishments.
Overall, a very sad attempt at shawarma.
In total it was $16 for the plate.
Oh yeah, the name is...
Read moreI visited the store on November 25, 2024, at 4:18 PM, and while I appreciate the good value of the food, I wanted to share some concerns about my recent experience.
I ordered two chicken shawarmas, and although the food was delicious and reasonably priced, the service was a bit disappointing. It took 30 minutes to receive my order (4:58 PM), which felt longer than necessary, especially since there were only a few people ahead of me. I understand that it can get busy, but the lack of greeting or acknowledgment when I entered was noticeable. The staff was focused on making food, but the jingles on the door should have been enough to alert them to my presence.
Additionally, I was unhappy with how my shawarma was handled after the chicken was added. It sat there for a while before the staff worked on the orders ahead of mine, which caused my meal to cool down. While I understand there can be a wait during busy times, I believe my order should have been prioritized to avoid it sitting out.
Overall, while I’m happy with the value of the food, I feel the service could use improvement in terms of attention to customers and ensuring orders are prepared in a timely manner.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I hope it helps improve the customer experience for others...
