Hi all, just wanted to write my personal experience that had happened today.
I've been coming in to the Starbucks here at Shops at Don Mills for about a month now. Every time I come in, I order the same drink. It's not a complicated order at all.
The cashier today, is new, and so he wanted to ask his supervisor for reassurance on how to input my order. This is understandable, and of course I was very patient. The supervisor comes by, her name is Bianca, and she gave me a weird look.
She explained, that because there is no button for my add on, they can't do it. But I have been a customer at Starbucks for at the very least 6 years, and I have been ordering this same drink for the last 3 years. Not once have I had a problem. They do ask me, "Oh does it make it taste any different?" or "I can't find the button" to which I reply with you go under "ask me" and manually type it in. I only know this, because this is what a store manager had told me to do before.
In the end, she ultimately told the cashier to just manually input it (like I had said, before there Bianca was called). But my main concern, and the main reason as to why I am writing this review, is because soon after, she went to her fellow barista named Marco and started to talk about my situation. They kept looking back at me, and staring. As soon as I stared back, she could not make eye contact with me anymore.
There were only 4 people on the floor, the cashier (very sweet), a barista making drinks (very hardworking), Marco (the one talking with Bianca), and the supervisor, Bianca herself. At this point, only 2 people were actually working, while the other 2 were gossiping.
As I was about to write this review, I had seen another person with the same issue, about how disrespectful Bianca was. I did not appreciate being talked about in front of me and I did not expect to be singled out. Furthermore, I had higher expectations from Starbucks.
This experience has greatly impacted my thoughts on this Starbucks, and potentially Starbucks as a whole. With this in mind, I would strongly suggest to the store manager to reconsider Bianca's position, or at the very least give her more training, on customer servicing (or give her a write up).
Thank you, and have a...
Read moreA barista at this location is making me lose my taste for Green Tea Lattes.
One of the baristas at this location has pissed me off enough to give the entire store a two-star rating. This is unfortunate because the other staff members working here provide excellent service. I have been coming to this location for more than 2 years now on a regular basis. I frequent Starbucks very often and typically order a grande non-fat, sugar free green tea latte. Each barista in every store tends to make the drink differently, some richening the flavor by being more liberal with the matcha.
There is this one barista at this particular location whom I avoid ordering green tea lattes from as the drinks he has made me in the past tend to lack any flavor. He will literally add just a pinch of matcha to the drink to prove that he is not just serving you sweetened warm milk.
This morning, I hit my lucky dozen for the 100th time this year and went in to redeem my reward. I specifically asked for 3 extra scoops of matcha (in addition to the 5 they apparently put in the venti version). My favorite (sarcasm) barista was at the bar, but I was not worried as the staff who took my order clearly marked 8 SCOOPS on the cup.
Unfortunately, once I received my drink and took a sip, it completely lacked the flavor which one would typically find in an 8 matcha venti latte. I went back to the bar and confirmed whether he did indeed put 3 extra scoops of matcha in the latte and he blatantly lied to my face. Buddy, I have consumed enough green tea lattes to know the difference between an actual green tea latte and warm milk with a hint of green color in it.
For those of you who enjoy GRTLs, go to Starbucks Mintos opposite Eglinton Station or to the Starbucks on the lowest level of the Eaton Centre. They do not pinch pennies and ensure that their customers are getting the best quality Green Tea Lattes.
I love Starbucks and the other baristas in this store. However, this guy really needs to go. He makes the worst green tea lattes I have ever...
Read moreBest Starbucks I have ever been at! My wife and I decided to check this place out after a friend of ours recommended it. We had heard about it but living so far away, we never had the chance to get there. The moment we walked in, we were in awe with how spacious this starbucks is. The restrooms are clean and they even had someone sampling nitro shots. It is very busy so it took us longer to find seats but we did find seats at the bar. At the register, we were greeted by a wonderful young lady named meghan. She introduced us to the clove system and even offered us food to match with the coffee which she promptly brought over to us on an actual plate. Jay made us our coffee and he was amazing! He was knowledgable and made the experience so much better. My wife loved his captain america tattoo and the two of them discussed the movies like they had been friends for ever. What made this starbucks stand out was the fun between the baristas. another barista walked to Jay to ask him about milk, and the two joked even involving us in the joke about milk spilling. We wanted to order another coffee and Meghan was there to help us again. My wife really wanted to try their hazelnut blanco and wow was that worth it! Jay was attentive funny and great conversation. You can tell the baristas here love the job they do. What stands out from this starbucks is the way they all get to know you. Meghan even said goodbye to us by name as we left! Both Jay and Meghan were outstanding and so was the rest of staff! I never leave reviews on these things but I wanted to share our experience! We will be back for sure and this time we will be bringing...
