Terrazza — Restaurant in Toronto

WOW! What a gem this place truly is, we came in with a party of 6 people. We were greeted at the door by Frankie, Ashley and Ty all such sweet wonderful beautiful people. Frankie showed us to our table, as we were waiting to order they brought us warm delicious bread with these olives that are absolutely delicious paired with an olive oil dip. Our group orders a whole bunch of negroni’s, old fashion, a couple bottles of house red wine and of course Peroni to sip on, to eat we had: La Familiga platter to share, fried calamari, eggplant ricotta, Caprese salad, chicken ceaser salad, gnocchi, shrimp linguine with mussels and a prosciutto pizza and OMG let me tell you, everything was spot on! We all were blown away by how authentic the food really was, the atmosphere is a vibe, the wine was endless and to top it off, they make their own tiramisu!!! First bite and I felt like I was on vacation in the Mediterranean Sea people watching, truly an absolutely mind blowing experience. Terrazza is a MUST TRY, date night, family outing, sweet 16 celebration they do it all and there is no way you will be disappointed unless you show up on a day their closed!! This place is a gem, kid friendly, patio is open in the summer time, cute lights and flowers really sets the mood. There is no place like Terrazza in the neighbourhood. If you haven’t been to Terrazza I don’t know what you’re waiting for, this review is all you need and I think the owner is famous! Get over to Terrazza and ask to meet Frankie Lasagna, I promise Frankie and the team will take great care of you and your party. I’m very disappointed with the service here. My partner and I decided to dine in for Valentines day. Let me just start this off by saying that I work at a restaurant doing bartending/serving so I understand that on a busy day things take longer than usual, however this shouldn’t be an excuse to offer terrible service. After we were seated it took the server about 20-25 minutes to greet us and ask us if we were ready to order (way too long). After ordering, one of the servers brought the wrong appetizers to our table. The server then told my partner that they thought my partner ordered a different appetizer instead. The tone of the server made it seem like it was my partners fault. It was very condescending in the way the server was speaking to us. An apology would have been appreciated. The food was exceptional, but none of the servers checked on us or asked if the food was okay or anything like that. Not a single time. When it came time to get the bill they charged us extra for a dish that we did not even order. They corrected the issue by refunding us the difference after we pointed it out on the bill. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here. The service was terrible. I visited this cute little, family styled Italian restaurant with my boyfriend last week. We were both very excited for the food and as soon as we walked in were happy to realize it was a small, almost homey like restaurant inside. We thought wow we won’t feel like we don’t fit in here.

Unfortunately our service was soo extremely poor and at times almost felt like we were an inconvenience to our server. We weren’t asked for drinks, given any bread, and waited around 40 mins to be asked for our dinner order, which included ordering our beverages as well.

The food came quick and was quite delicious. Once we were finished, again our server continued to serve what seemed like every other table, tuck chairs but not check in with us about desserts. Finally we were brought the dessert menu to which we planned on ordering tiramisu. Again, no one came to ask our order for another 30 mins, at this point we decided we would not be ordering dessert and just leaving.
