I recently visited Bagel House with high hopes, eager to try their reputed bagel sandwiches. Unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant, leaving me feeling both dissatisfied and significantly lighter in the wallet. For a total of $28, my companion and I expected a satisfying and delicious meal. Instead, we were served two terrible bagel sandwiches that barely justified even a fraction of the cost.
First, let’s talk about the bagels. A good bagel should have a crisp exterior and a chewy interior. What we received were dense, flavorless rounds that seemed more like yesterday’s leftovers than freshly baked goods. The texture was all wrong, lacking the characteristic bite that makes a bagel worth savoring.
The fillings were equally disappointing. My sandwich, which was supposed to be a classic smoked turkey, was a soggy mess. The turkey was scanty and lacked the rich, smoky flavor I was anticipating.
My companion’s turkey bagel was no better. The turkey slices were dry and unappetizing. The sandwich also had a strange, off-putting taste, which we suspected came from the wilted lettuce and an overly tangy, industrial-tasting mayo.
Service-wise, the experience didn’t improve. The staff seemed indifferent, bordering on rude, and it took an unreasonably long time for our order to be prepared, despite the café being only moderately busy.
In summary, our visit to Bagel House was an unfortunate and expensive misadventure. For $28, we expected high-quality ingredients, fresh bagels, and a decent level of customer service. Sadly, Bagel House failed on all counts. We won’t be returning, and I would advise others to think twice before spending their...
Read moreThe sandwiches were great ,but what I didn't like or found odd ?. there was a set price for the sandwich on the menu with a picture if what came on it ."as most menus do " I.e lettuce tomatoes onion e.c.t . Bit when it came to cash out ,there was a series of extra charges for the basics at 35 cents per item. For example 35 cents extra for lettuce +35 cents extra for tomato so on and so forth . But on the menu clearly shows all of the above toppings included in the above price for no extra charge. Now I ask you .if you went to any eating establishment and they showed u a menu with a price for ,I don't know . Say subway and you went I to order a sub and after they had wrung up your bill for the advertised price ,and then started to charge u extra for lettuce, tomato, mayo so on and so forth I bet you would be a little taken a back because now their taking advantage of you by not telling you prior that what is on the board is just false advertising, and your now daily deal is applicable to changes depending on what toppings you decide to put on your sandwich regardless of what is clearly displayed on the menu .now back to the point, so a 7.50 plus tax per sandwich now turns into a 12 $ sandwich because of your toppings. With that being said 2 sandwiches that were clearly priced at 7.50 each plus tax somehow turned into 23$ go figure. Now is that some sort of nonsense 🤔 or is that how we...
Read moreFood is good-staff is ABHORRENT! I am appalled by the abusive nature of nearly every single staff member at this location-especially the 'ladies' who work there. In my experience, almost every staff member at every Bagel House in Toronto is either Filipino, or Indian. This is likely illegal. I have never seen a white or black staff member in 15 years. Specifically to this location, staff members consistently lie to customers, roll their eyes at customers, talk about customers behind their backs, and the word 'thank you' is pretty much absent from their vocabulary. The inmates are clearly running this asylum, and it is sad. Go next door to Starbucks and the service you will receive is the exact opposite-kind, courteous, and respectful. What's worst than this, is that I have complained to management {nearly impossible to find} and they dismiss their glaring customer service issues as par for the course when 'stupid idiots and morons' are hired. Something should be done about this ever lasting and in fact ever...
