Nawab Express On Avenue — Restaurant in Toronto

Their service is very lacking. From the moment you dial their phone number it rings, and rings and rings then goes to voice mail. You're lucky if a live person answers the phone. Then you place the order and they ask you "to hold for a moment" while the order taker is chatting with someone else in the restaurant. After you painstakingly place your order with this person and ask how long it will take to deliver to your home (which is 5 minutes away from the restaurant), they assure you that it will take between 30-35 minutes. Never! After waiting for 1.5 hours for my delivery, I gave up. They never showed up. I tried calling but no one is picking up the phone AGAIN and it goes to voice mail.

It seems that there is some turnover with their delivery person(s). So each time a new delivery person starts, there is a problem with finding the delivery address.

Nawab, you need to get your act together as this is not good for customer service. You will put yourself out of business with this...

I have been to this restaurant many times, at least last 6 years. I have done take out and dine-in without an issue. I am not sure what happened to management, I doubt they are doing any up keep of the place because today when we went to dine in, we saw sooo many bugs crawling on the walls, ceiling and on our seats. When we told the server about it, she was so unapologetic about it. One of my friend, had gotten take out food which she obviously did not feel comfortable taking home anymore so she said that to the server but the girl nonchalantly said "its not in our food". I think she missed the whole point of bugs in vicinity of food in general. Well that was the last of that restaurant. Please management if you are reading this, get your premise inspected and cleaned out. No one wants to see bugs while they are eating even if you think that the bugs are not in your food. Ridiculous response...

New review. 1star. After ordering from this place regularly since it opened and loving it every time , I got the shock of my life when my "onion bajee" turned out to be onion rings from a frozen box. It is a shame that standards are deteriorating. I hope it is only a temporary glitch because I hate to loose my favorite Indian restaurant to indifference (or greed). I will give it another chance and update my review then.

Original review: 5 stars This little place packs the quality that rivals the best Indian restaurants in Toronto. Full disclosure, we only ordered out from there and never ate in. But... every time we are blown away by the flavors. Fantastic curries and superb naan. An explosions of aromas that you would expect only from top rated Indian restaurants.

A year later... I would give ten stars if I could. Seriously the best Indian...
