The Corner Bank Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Toronto

Most RACIST place ever. I came in today as a frequent customer for 1 year now and never had a problem actually recommended to all my friends. Which I brought some friends for a their birthday. Anyways, we come in today around 2 pm and play pool and I went to order a pitcher 5lb wings pizza and nachos. I seen the blonde waitress and brunette with glasses were busy with customers so I standed waited for 10 mins which I did not mind at all and didn't say anything. My parents own a bar in montreal so I know how hectic it gets. Than more customers start coming in after me and the waitresses knows I'm there by the way and she continues to ask them what drink would you like for another gang of customers so I'm starting to get frustrated but STILL kept my mouth shut. She than tells the customers that were beside me to come over here and ill serve you and tells me oh let me get these guys their drinks and ill be with you. Than she goes out of the bar so now it's been 15 mins even my friends are asking me what am I doing. SO THIS IS THE PUNCH IN THE FACE YOU WILL BE SHOCKED. So mind you the customers are all caucasian at this time and even the group beside was looking at me like I'm not wanted here. Me and my friends are brown, their light skin I'm dark. ANYWAYS I see the man that gave me the table for pool older white caucsion male with grayish hair which I assume is the owner and asked him "excuse me can I make a order" this guy looks at me and says you're gonna have to wait for my daughter (the blonde girl). EVEN THAN I DIDNT SAY ANYTHING I JUST SAID OKAY THATS FINE. THAN A WHITE CAUCASION MALE COMES BESIDE SEES THE GUY AND SAYS HEY SIR BEAUTIFUL DAY OUT THERE EH. OWNER: YEP WHAT CAN I GET FOR YOU AND CONTINUES TO HELP THE OTHER CUSTOMERS. THAN THE SPIT IN THE FACE WAS THAT HIS DAUGHTER COMES BACK READY TO SERVE ME THAT HE SAYS TAKE YOUR TIME HUNNY SLOW DOWN AND THAN SHE DOESNT EVEN SERVE ME AND THE CUSTOMERS ALL LOOK AT ME LIKE I'M SCUM WHEN I DIDNT EVEN COMPLAIN ONCE. COMPLETELY RUNINED MY DAY. THAN I TELL MY LIGHTSKIN BRAZILAN FRIEND TO GO ORDER HE GETS IT IN NOT EVEN A MIN. I WAS SO MAD I RUINED IT FOR MY FRIENDS CAUSE WE ALL WANTED TO FEAST AND DRINK BUT I TOLD THEM NO IM NOT SPENDING ANY MONEY HERE SO WE PLAYED A COUPLE GAMES FOR MY FRIENDS BDAY AND ORDERED NACHOS AND LEFT. I'm still writing this even the next day cause this is not right at all. So even at the end of it all we go to pay for our table and food the guy even forgets to charge the food and we told him the food and drinks too. The daughter comes running up to make sure we are paying for food. So dissapointed as I have referred so many people here. But yeah that was the experience for me at...

I have no respect for this bar. My boyfriend and I were watching the Raptors game and as we were leaving, I noticed a pair of Prada glasses on our table where I was sitting . I assumed it belonged to the girls beside me, (as we were sharing the table with them), so I left them there. The next day, my boyfriend stated that he forgot his glasses at our seat. It was then that I realized that the glasses didn’t belong to those girls, it belonged to my boyfriend. I immediately drove to the bar and asked if they had the glasses and was told no. I then asked the manager if I could see the surveillance footage, which he allowed. On the footage, after my boyfriend and I left, there were only two staff members that came by to clean our table. Not sure who the first person was as he was not our server, but the second person was our waitress. Not once during the footage did we see any customers come to the table and “swipe” anything, which the manager said we’d check to see . When I went back to the bar to speak to the owner, he stated that there was no evidence that glasses were taken. But my question is, Is there evidence that the glasses weren’t taken? Because it was, as it was right on our table. They say there wasn’t any proof they were taken by anyone, although the establishment doesn’t seem to have adequate surveillance that allows you to zoom in onto the tables. They also don’t have surveillance footage facing the staff, as I would be able to see the glasses in front of the staff on the table. Instead, I saw footage facing their backs. This isn’t a matter of I think. It’s a matter of I know. And no matter how many times I’ve reiterated that, management continues to state otherwise. I would have expected his glasses to be taken by a customer, (which in that case, there would be nothing we could do as we do not expect management to know everyone that walks through their doors), but again only their staff was seen on camera by our table clearing it. Not customers, staff. These glasses were expensive, and it’s going to be expensive to replace.

People, if you’re choosing this bar, check and then double check when leaving, as there are no adequate footage for the dinning room area and your items on the tables. Never will we come back to a place that that dismisses what the customer knows to be true. Instead of telling me there’s no proof, when their cameras aren’t even set up in a way to throughly prove that, they should find out which staff is compromising the integrity of their business and deal with it...

Would have been a nice place but one lady server angrily shouted at me: "You have to wait, SIR!" with a mean, rude, and arrogant stare.

Context: Nobody was paying attention to us at that time so I had to gently half-raise my hand. I came into a brief eye contact with her, and got a bit embarassed cos she didn't acknowledge me thus I thought that she might not be a server. Kept looking at her to check if she was or not since she had her back on us.

She was at the bar, and I later realized that she was waiting for some drinks from the bartender. At that time, I couldn't confirm if she was a server until she touched the order slips and received the drinks.

A simple nod, or any form of acknowledgement would have made me put my hand down, and I wouldn't have to try figure out whom our server was gonna be.

Your other servers were very nice though, but still giving the negative review since she definitely ruined the experience for a first-timer and pool player/enthusiast who wanted to check the place out as a potential go-to place for the sport.

As a former FOH restaurant supervisor, such rude and aggressive behaviour has no place in the hospitality industry. Absolutely disgusting.
