if i could give this place - stars i would, my friends and i went to check this place out on friday night, even made a reservation, first red flag when we walked in was we were told to seat ourselves, with no table reserved for us, secondly we had just sat down and the server/waiter came up to us and asked if we wanted any drinks, we told him we were waiting for our other friend to come before we ordered, not even 2 minutes later he comes back again, by this time our friend had arrived, the server whoâs name is GEORGE, was super rude and was rushing us for our order in his words âcan we hurry up and decide as iâve got other tables to deal withâ we started with an appetizer between the 4 of us, and didnât get our starter until we got our entrees. the food was less than spectacular, it was actually horrid, couldnât even bare to finish it. when it came down to the bill, we had asked the appetizer to be split between us 4, GEORGE, than stated that he didnât want to do that as it is too complicated for him to do in the system and he would prefer it on 1 bill, which goes to show the laziness of the employees here. after receiving our bill, GEORGE stated that there is no option for us to choose the tip but rather there is a non negotiable gratuity for each transaction, ontop of a $71 bill he manually put a tip of $14 and some cents in as a tip, which i did NOT authorize, and he did the same thing for my friends aswell, only their tips were all different, and they werenât given the option to choose their own desired tip. please avoid this place at all costs!! will...
Read moreWait staff was excellent; offered us extra plates when heard we are sharing the entrees. Food was very good; south indian curry wasn't sweet, was hot both spice and temperature. Rice was fluffy. Papad was a little stale overcooked and nan is the toasted packaged variety but both were good enough. Mango salad was great, but the dressing too sweet. Jambalaya very good also. The spicy sour soup was fantastic -had lemongrass and likely TomYum paste. Two suggestions for improvements: 1.) Stop including a paper napkin under the curry pot. Its the same white as both the plate and the rice, so I inadvertently shredded it and mixed into the rice, thinking it was rice. 2.) The large sculpted bases of the booth table legs aren't doing you any favour. Changing these to flat 1/4" thick steel discs, 14" or 16" diameter (assuming the tables are supported by the wall) would provide tons of easy access and lots of room for boots, shoes and the clean-up mop. You might even try just the leg with no base at the floor whatsoever, if you support the tabletop strong enough at the wall (braced against twisting as well as vertical load). Shouldn't...
Read moreWe called ahead to let them know we were a large party and they reserved the back for us. We were 30+ people and only had one server. To be clear, the server was very kind and doing her best, but she needed more help. Management set her up for failure with that situation. Drinks and food orders were slow to be taken and even slower to arrive. As a former server, I felt bad.
Drink were alrighty but they had a long list of unavailable items. Sadly, not one person next to me enjoyed their food. The pasta was described as bland, the fish was likened to cheap frozen fish, and the calamari breading was mushy.
I would not recommend this place for group gatherings. I don't know if the food is normally better when the kitchen is being pummeled with orders, but, as a restaurant, you need to be ready...
The venue does have many large TVs to view the game. There are options to sit at the bar, tables, and booths. Bathrooms are located down a flight of stairs, so not very accessible to anyone with...
