Two Brothers Shawarma — Restaurant in Toronto

So I only found out about this place from just doing a google search after going strictly to the location down by Lakeshore where I first discovered about Two Brothers. This location is situated on the south side of the new Keelesdale subway station and York Memorial where the school burnt down a few years ago. Smaller establishment compared to the other location I am use to which is no big deal since i usually take it home with me. Menus are exactly the same which is nice and not conflicting. The staffs are so kind and asked about your day which made it felt like home.

Placed 2 order of the Chicken shawarma wrap in a pita with almost all the toppings. The only thing that kind of threw me off the first time I ordered was the hot sauce, asked for a bit but it was kind of lathered all over and made it unbearable at first, maybe should of asked to add extra garlic spread to help prevent the hot sauce from overbearing my taste bud. Ended up finishing it in the evening and it tasted just as good as I remembered.

2nd time around I went back and placed a order of half and half since the beef is available and asked for extra garlic spread. Made a big difference. Thumbs up.

The portions are just as huge and the meat filling is through the roof, just don't let the size of the pita bread fool you.

Definitely going to make this the spot for when I'm craving some shawarma without trekking it down to Lakeshore, sorry Two...

I come here from time-to-time since I work close by and the food is ok, huge portion for the price, so it’s a bit more reasonable. However, I recently witnessed something extremely concerning at this place (April 15th, afternoon). They placed a new entire chicken shawarma skewer on the spit with the plastic wrap still on and left it on the fire for at least 5–10 minutes while I was there. This is not only completely unsanitary but also dangerous — heating plastic like that can release toxic chemicals into the food. It’s a serious food safety violation and made me lose all trust in how this restaurant handles its food. I won’t be coming back and would strongly recommend others think twice since this is likely a regular practice.

When I asked one of the female workers about it (looked like a manager), she didn’t really acknowledge it as a serious concern, but then within 1-2 minutes after I mentioned it they removed it, but the damage was already done. Another customer noticed it as well and said it was unusual.

Hope you correct this behaviour going forward or someone...

We have been ordering from here for a couple of years now and it remains our favourite shawarma place by a long shot. We usually order 2 chicken shawarmas with one being a combo with garlic potatoes. Recently we ordered a chicken on rice as well. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. Last night we decided to eat in the restaurant and I somehow forgot my bag on the chair when we left. It contained my phone and wallet which had cash and multiple credit cards in it. It was almost a half hour before I’d realized my error as we were driving and I wasn’t thinking about it. I had pretty much expected never to see it again. When we arrived back at the restaurant I was elated to discover that my bag was behind the counter waiting for me. I pretty much started to cry out of relief. I will never forget the kindness demonstrated by the gentlemen working there and I will be giving them my business for as long as they exist. Thank you not only for your great food but for also saving me a lot of grief. You have no idea how...
