So I got a food poisoning
was excited to come try out this place, I came a-bit later than my 2 friends, so they had a chance to order some appetisers which were fish tarts, I saw that they looked intriguing so I ordered salmon, mushroom and tuna tart as well. As I saw them eating I realised by their faces there’s something wrong
I asked if it’s spicy, and my friend after few minutes of going through something replied that it wasn’t good at all, and it’s spoiled or something and she didn’t know how to spit it out so she swallowed it. So she said right away there was a choking gagging reflex. Right as my tuna tart arrived I told the waiter that I definitely not looking forward to have the same experience and do not want that tuna tart anymore. Customer service was great they took it off our bills and took my tuna tart back. I can’t say that salmon tart and mushroom tart tasted amazing, it was missing something, felt a little tasteless. We also ordered pineapple shrimp, which arrived cold and very sticky, like sticky to the plate, it wasn’t freshly cooked, it was made as a butch and put in the plates that been sitting for couple hours, at least that’s how it felt to me, I personally didn’t like it, we decided to give it a 6 only for the presence of pineapple, which were yummy, without pineapple it’s 4/10, can’t even tell if you are eating shrimp could also pass for chicken. We also got shishito peppers as an appetiser which were good. As a compliment for bad tuna tart we received a complimentary portion of the same shrimp which was abit warmer and a spicy poke tart, so we decided to try alittle peace of the fish on spicy poke tart and came up with the same conclusion that it’s not fresh at all
all of us had a choking gag reflex while swallowing it. Honestly I was just shocked from that tarts but it didn’t stopped me from ordering ultra carpaccio which is raw fish
like it wasn’t enough red flags
it just tasted like a fish that been aired and sitting outside for couple days. That was the taste
 just awful
again great service it was taken off the bill. Cooked Sea bass was great. I really like that. Decided not to get anything else because that raw fish just terrified us. But still got the desserts. Deserts were very delicious as well as cocktails. Customer service was amazing. The manager Anna was absolutely great, lovely, friendly lady she came by to check on us. Our waiter was extremely nice until we payed our bills, after that he didn’t know us anymore lol I left 30% tip, I felt bad for complaining too much, and he didn’t even say bye. So the conclusion of this lovely night is that I’ve been throwing up for the past two and a half hours now and that fish is just stuck in my throat I still have a nasty taste of it and it’s just horrible. Just awful experience. I did not expected that from ink entertainment Update it’s morning now and all 3 of us having the...

It’s daring to open up a supper club in this area of Midtown, not to mention a re-imagined version of a very notable venue which I myself have fond memories of.

As a first impression, the facade of the building still displays a sign for Arthur’s; You wouldn’t know that it’s Ultra until you actually enter. I must say that the staff and service here are absolutely exceptional and attentive, in particular, Louis, Shea, Zack, and the management team.

The interior was designed with Alexander McQueen in mind, and is both opulent and elegant. The main floor encompasses the Ochre Dining Room, as well as the Onyx bar. The bar itself was not in operation when I visited, nor was the patio open for service, and these will both be essential in enticing customers.

They were unable to make several of the cocktails requested, as they hadn’t yet fully stocked the bar. That being said, they do offer custom cocktails which they create based on your preference of flavours and style, which is a great addition!

The menu is based on ‘PanAsian cuisine’ with a mix of cold and hot apps, rice and noodle dishes, and a selection of sushi, sashimi, and larger mains. I wouldn’t necessarily call it Pan Asian, as not all Asian cultures and influences are represented, but they do have unique options, as well as nods to common favorites, such as miso black cod. They do suggest a sharing style of dining; however, many of the apps are quite small, and one bite wonders.

One of their ‘signature dishes’ was the crispy seabass with green curry which I was excited to try; however, it wasn’t ‘as advertised.’ Rather, moreso a play on fish and chips, and lacking the essence of a true green curry. The miso black cod had a perfectly crisp exterior and done quite well, although unusual to pair it with a pea purĂ©e.

The staff and service truly make this an incredible experience, and I truly hope that this re-imagined venue will live up to...

Ultra exudes a dark, elegant ambiance that sets the tone for a sophisticated evening. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the host, and the space felt calm and intimate. Though it gradually filled up as the night progressed, bringing a lively energy.

Our server was friendly, attentive, and well-versed in the menu, which helped us navigate our options with ease. We were celebrating my name day—a tradition unfamiliar to many here—but she was genuinely curious and made the experience special by personalizing our dessert with a “Happy Name Day” message, which was a thoughtful touch.

Throughout the dinner, staff checked in on us several times. While the attentiveness was appreciated, a bit more space between visits would have allowed for a more relaxed pace.

We tried two cocktails, the Nimbus, which was light and tart, and the Lychee Martini, which struck a perfect balance between sweet and sour. Both drinks were refreshing and well-crafted. Definitely a highlight of the evening.

We shared the Rock Shrimp Tempura. I enjoyed the dish, but the dijon flavor was a bit overpowering for my friend. The Papaya & Mango Salad was a hit; light, fresh, sweet, with a subtle heat from the chili that added depth.

I had the Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin, which was beautifully plated, cooked to perfection, with a tender texture and a subtly sweet sauce with a peppery finish. We also ordered the Sizzling Mongolian Wagyu Beef, which I found flavorful and well-prepared, though my friend wasn’t as fond of the taste. The Mushroom Fried Rice was a satisfying side that we both enjoyed.

We ended the meal with the Lemon Kalamansi. My friend especially loved the lemon mousse, while I found it a pleasant and citrusy finish to the meal.

Overall, we had a lovely evening. While some flavors came down to personal preference, the service, ambiance, and attention to detail made the night memorable. We would...

I had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. I was initially drawn in by the dining room's design and the team from Akira Back. However, after this visit, I don't plan to return and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Recently, I saw a post about a "happy hour" menu and decided to give it a try. When I arrived at the restaurant with my friend, Zoe informed us that the "happy hour" menu was only available on the patio. Even if we want to try the regular menu and the “happy hour” menu, we can't sit in the dining room. This was confusing and we hadn't been notified about this policy, even though we made a reservation over the phone. We ended up on the patio and requested a table under the umbrella, but Zoe refused, citing that it was already booked. At that time, there was only one table occupied in the dining room. It was chilly outside, and there were many bothersome bees around. We tried to seek assistance from the waitress, but she informed us that all areas were fully booked. Around 6 pm, there were some empty spots and also the dining room which was largely empty. Upon returning home, I read Google reviews, which mentioned the necessity of specifying a preference for the patio seating. It seems we should have been directed to the dining room. I also revisited the post on social media that I had seen a few days prior. The individual had the “happy hour” in the dining room and had even posted pictures. I'm confused as to why our experience differed. Regarding the food, the portion sizes were suitable for sharing, and the prices were reasonable. However, the Szechuan chicken wasn't spicy but rather too sweet, and the beef skewers were inconsistently cooked - some parts were too dry, while others were too raw. Overall, we didn't enjoy our meal, which left us feeling like we wasted both our time and money.
