this place is not bad but the person running the place is worst ever owner i have ever seen. he has this attitude which he thinks he makes the best cheesecake in the world.. he might be but have you heard a cheesecake shop running out of cheesecakes.. .. guess it... welcome to uncle tetsu this place ran out of the cheese cake when we arrived at this place.. and we asked how much time will it take to get a new batch out we are wiling to wait.. ans was 45 min ok. we are ready to wait for it.. we waited.. came back after 40 minutes.. cake isnt ready yet will take another 15 .....ok.. we will wait.. came back after 20 minutes.. oh we ran out of the cake we are sorry.. are you kidding me. i have been to your store and i told you that i am coming back to get them can you just keep 1 cake atleast for me knowing that i said i am coming back.. and then the store owner with a godly attitude.. we dont reserve cakes for anyone. ,, your employee didnt say so. was asked again in front of the store owner no response.. and on top of it he says we have been running around for our ownself not for him

mind you mr uncle tetsu owner.. your shop keeps open because the customer comes to buy your cake.. and if you cant keep your attitude towards your customer right then you have no right to keep this place open. keep your cakes to your self shove them up where ever you wish to.. you lost a bunch of customer today telling...

OK, I went on a Sunday at 6:30 PM during a winter deep freeze and still the line for Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake almost snaked out the entrance of the Indulge shop (where you can also pick up pot pies and ice cream cones). Guess that says something about Uncle Tetsu's cheesecake and other treats. The line did move at a reasonable pace though. Take note that this is strictly a take out spot, there are no seats at all at Indulge.

I like the cheesecake, but I prefer Uncle Tetsu's in tart form (six for the price of five, they say). One of their delicious, super rich yet light in texture tarts is just right in size for me. I warm it up a bit in the oven at home and that first bite through the crisp crust and into the pillowy filling is ultra satisfying melt in your mouth goodness. Yummy!

I also tried the Rusk this time. They turn slices of their cheesecake into very light crispy cookies. Pretty impressive and tasty too, but I'll stick with my fave the tarts, which I rate five...

OMG, the smell and taste is just amazing, cho oishii. We were surprised to find an Uncle Tetsu's local in the middle of Yorkdale mall but there it was and... no line up!!!

They had their 7" signature cheesecakes for about $12 bux, the Madeleines and the cheesecake tarts. I fell for the cheesecake tarts, similar to the Portuguese tarts but with cheesecake instead of that yellow cream and way more delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness, cheese, puffiness and else. Deliciously Japanese.

I just got one for $3.50 but they have a promotion of buying 5 tarts, get one free.

An added benefit is the huge parking space of the mall, the location is kinda small and no seating inside but that doesn't stop you from enjoying the cakes elsewhere. Don't wait, go get your cheesecake...

Tetsushi Mizokami founded the original Uncle Tetsu in Hakata, Japan. Since its debut in 1985, Uncle Tetsu’s signature Japanese Cheesecakes have become an international phenomenon which has garnered fans around the globe. Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecakes are made from scratch and combines the richness of American cheesecakes with the lightness of French soufflés. The Japanese Cheesecakes are admired for their lighter quality and balanced sweetness that provide the perfect taste and texture combination. Served warm from the oven with an Uncle Tetsu stamp atop the cake here at 39 Orfus Rd Unit C, North York, Ontario, Canada.
