I dont even know where to begin ! Horrible experience and I was embarrassed ! Last Saturday went for a bite got there around 545 PM ! The girl at the entrance said 10 min wait ! I said ok then we walked to the other restaurant but that was busier so we walked back and that point there was more people waiting to be seated ! I was blown away how they not able to seat people ! They seat 2 people for a table seat 6-or 8 !!!!!!!! So right there loosing about 30 people and you can multiple by 3 or 4 tables !!! They could separate those tables and then people like us dont have to wait 25 min ! Then we got seated at the side patio ! Then the server told us we have limited menu !!!! Summer time hello what is this place not ready ?? Then we ordered shrimp and flatbread and for starter Calamari ! Young girl said ok then she goes get our Margarita that was a joke too much pineapple ! So she is coming back and told us sorry no calamari ! Ok Np ! Then our food is coming like not warm it all ! But we ate and I checked the limited menu what is a JOKE ! So on the shrimp should be mango ,pineapple and orange !NON OF THEM WAS THERE ?? But if some one not checking they charge you for a full price !!! I told her so we got 3 $ off ! Ask about the atmosphere ? We had that small side patio and next to us people had a dog barking all the time !!! NO DOG SHOULD BE WHERE FOOD IS PERIOD ! WE NEVER EVER GO BACK BAD SEATING HORRIBLE FOOD ! Now I know why people had NACHOS ! I WOULD NOT GIVE EVEN ONE STAR BUT I CANT POST IT WHIHOUT ONE !...
Read moreNot too sure where the good reviews came from. Arrive there around 1PMish with a motorcycle group. Got there and were seated right away. Waitress took our drinks right away. However most of us were ready to order and were surprised when we were told only taking drinks first. When the waitress finally got to our orders it was about another 30 mins. There were 4 waitresses on staff and all were tending to one table of about 50 people including ours. there must have been a shortage of cooks because it took over an hour to get our food and the quality was not there for my plate. i ordered the pineapple swiss chicken burger and a caesar salad. The salad was nice but a bit too much garlic. I still liked it though when I got to my burger I think the chicken ran across the road too many times. It was drier than I have ever eaten and so cold I figured it sat in the kitchen for at least 20 mins too long. Probably wold have been more moist if there was a lot more sauce on the bun. There was only a quick "Z" mark on the bun when i ate the lettuce and tomato first. I would have sent it back but was not too sure how long I would have to wait for another one and the group was on a time crunch. When it came to pay I was told my Caesar salad was an up charge. and that I did not look at the menu. I have enclosed a picture of the menu and caesar salad is not an up charge. Needless to say, I will...
Read moreI’ll be honest, previous reviews had me doubting our choice but I’m glad I gave them a chance because I we had an incredible time at The Driftwood! I ordered the smoked pulled pork sandwich with sweet fries, and it was delicious, it was tender, flavourful, and honestly, I could have just had the sweet fries on their own. They were that good! My husband went for the fish and chips, and he was equally impressed stating that he batter was crispy, and the fish was cooked perfectly.
The Guinness is how I imagine it would be poured and served in Ireland, it was ideal temperature…just spot on. It’s hard to find a perfect Guinness. And the Long Island Iced Teas definitely hit the spot too.
What really stood out, was the service. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. We were always taken care of, but never felt rushed or interrupted. It’s a fine balance, and they nailed it.
The view of the Harrier was a fantastic bonus, adding something extra to the whole experience. And while we didn’t bring our dogs, we’ll definitely be bringing them next time. The pups there were treated just as well as the other guests, and a water bowl that was constantly refilled.
All in all, The Driftwood far exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait...
