We came here three separate times in about a three week span for both lunch and dinner. First of all, the food is excellent. Fresh, well made, and delicious. I absolutely loved the sockeye salmon sashimi and their tempura. Service is friendly and prompt but I’m unsure if you’re supposed to pay at the desk or if they’ll bring a bill to your table.

The reason I’m leaving a 1-star review is because of the deceptive pricing strategy that they’ve employed.

The first time we ate here, it was $1.95 for 1pc Atlantic salmon nigiri and $2.95 for sockeye. Other bowls and items were $9.95 and they were advertising themselves as the “best value for money in Langley.” I grabbed a to-go menu on the way out because we thought we would be regulars here because of the excellent prices and food. When we came back 1 week later for lunch, all the menus and pricing had changed. That same Atlantic salmon nigiri was $2.45. The sockeye was now $3.95?! The bowls had also all jumped from $9.95 to $14.95 and higher, seemingly overnight. I appreciate the 20% grand opening discount but now this place is just like every other sushi place in Langley in terms of pricing. I really think they lost their competitive edge here, and I understand that businesses obviously have to make money, but it’s a shame that this happened so quickly and without any kind of notice of price increase. We want to come back here but the change in prices has soured our experience for sure. There are sushi places nearer to us that charge these same prices so we just don’t feel it’s worth the...

My family visited Omai sushi. We saw it was a newly opened japanese restaurant, and I found this place to be awesome. First, the parking was super convenient. It is located in the mall strip and there are plenty of parking just in front of the restaurant. Second, they were super friendly and was willing to help. Our 2yr old was with us at that moment and as soon as we walked in, the server brought us the high chair and baby plate before we could request for it. Last, but not the least, the food was amazing. All of the food were very fresh and tasty. The taste of salmon sashimi was exceptional. I can still feel it's chewy texture in my mouth. Please try the salmon sashimi when you visit this place. I believe this place has become THE sushi place for our family. We will definitely visit...

We came to this restaurant based on good reviews and Google’s posted hours, which said it was open until 9:30 PM. We arrived just before 9 PM, only to be completely ignored at the counter. There was one server working who seemed overwhelmed, attending to three people waiting on pickup orders. Despite us standing there for a while, she didn’t acknowledge us or offer a quick heads-up.

Eventually, after she had finished dealing with the pickups, she told us the kitchen had run out of ingredients and they were closing early. That was the first and only interaction. Just a flat “we’re closed.”

If you’re going to close early, update your hours or at least inform customers when they walk in. Super frustrating and honestly just...

Omai Sushi is the type of restaurant that needs WAYY more attention. The food is literally PERFECT. We got the Sashimi Bento, Chicken Udon, Tempura Shrimp/Prawn, Miso Soup, and Tofu. And let me tell you, this is everything that you would want in a restaurant. Everything is cooked and fried to perfection, the atmosphere is nice and chill, it’s actually sanitary unlike some unrecognized restaurants, the waiter is very nice and polite, and overall, if you are looking for the perfect Japanese experience, this is the place. And I feel like this place would be more famous if there weren’t many mega corporations in the way.
