I don’t find myself out in Langley very often… and don’t even get me started on the City of Langley vs the Township of Langley. But we found ourselves in the area one weekend while shopping at one of the large garden centres and we needed to grab a bite to eat. Sushico is a Japanese restaurant (duh) that’s located in one of the large strip malls in the City of Langley. The interior is quite spacious (especially compared with the Japanese restaurants in Vancouver) with tall and airy ceilings and tables spaced out appropriately. We decided to try their special lunch boxes: the Sushi and Sashimi Lunch Box ($17) and the Spicy Sashimi Lunch Box ($16) which included rice, gyoza, tempura, California roll, and miso soup. The staff here are quite friendly and seem to really try to please. When we placed our order, they told us that there would be a bit of a wait for our lunch boxes because there was a large party that just placed their order ahead of us. We asked how long and they said about 10 minutes and they were quite apologetic about it (for us, 10 minutes isn’t that bad… especially with what we’re used to in other restaurants). Still, they brought us out some ebi sunomono to fill our tummies while we waited. These lunch boxes are actually quite filling and there’s a good assortment of items in the box. I especially liked the California roll which didn’t have too much rice wrapped around it. The sashimi was good… actually… everything was quite good and I wouldn’t mind trying out some of their other dishes if we find ourselves in the area again. If you’re looking for some quality Japanese food with friendly and helpful service in the Langley area, this is the place to go.

Went there few days ago with my sister, the service was great, no issues at all, food was delicious and they had a large variety of vegetarian options, one of the few places you can find vegetarian gayozas! My only complaint would be about the Udon Yakisoba. It tasted a little too sweet and was very watery. Considering it was served on a hot plate, it did not sizzle as it usually should, it had a lot of water from the vegetables retained at the bottom of the hot plate so that somewhat disappointed both, me and my sister. But sushi rolls were amazing! I love asparagus and it was a lovely surprise to find it in the vegetarian roll! I would definitely visit again. Update: it’s been over a year since my above review and as promised, I visited again. Many times actually. I love their spring rolls and special vegetarian rolls! I always end up ordering way too much food but that is not a bad thing, it just goes to show that there’s a great vegetarian selection. Also I now have a new favourite, the seaweed salad... oh it’s the best!

Out-of-town visitors who love Japanese food and were not disappointed with this restaurant. Even though the prices are a bit in the high side ($9 for 6 gyozas), the dinner combos we each had were worth their price tag of $26. We did not expect to get such a large portion with a generous serving of soup, 4 pieces of tempura, 6 sushi pieces, teriyaki, rice and vegetables. The only quibbles I have might be that the tempura batter was a bit too much and the green tea only came as a mug, as opposed to a teapot, which is usually the norm. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Easy parking but then it might be more different on the weekend. The quality of the food was very good and I'd recommend this place, especially the combination meals. For a few $ more than individual items, you get lots. We couldn't finish it all, so took the rest for the next day's supper. The music could be improved upon too - maybe something 'Japanese or at least less audible. But a positive experience overall.

Really wanted to try it and like it like everyone else here. Sadly, that wasn't the case for me.

We were seated at a table that had a draft so my mother wanted to move table because she was cold. I was going to explain it to the person that seated us but he never came back.

We waited at least 15min. He actually took the order of the group that came after us. Brought them tea and water while we still waited with no tea or water. He just didn't bother with us.

If you feel unwelcomed in a restaurant you aren't going to sit around and order food. We decided to leave.

All I can I think is that he got annoyed with us. I would have explained but he left and never came back. The restaurant was only half full and we only took a table across from us. If that was an issue he could have just told us.

I am sure most people will be fine here but my experience was not. I don't believe the idea that customers are always right, but if there is an issue than just explain and let them know. There was no need for the kind of...
