My partner ordered the hot and sour chicken soup, and I ordered the wonton soup. The portion sizes were amazing, and when we were greeted the server was quite friendly. That's about all I have to say that is positive. The wontons made me gag - I could barely eat half of them. I hoped that the server would come back and I could get a glass of water, but she was too busy to ever stop at our table; not that we were particularly out of her way, considering we were right beside the register. My partner managed to get in about three bites of his soup before he started feeling sick to his stomach. He couldn't eat any more; i was a little less than halfway but both of us feeling ill, we chose instead to leave. My partner, having eaten hardly any of his food before it nauseated him past the point of being able to eat, didn't want to pay for his meal - we were totally willing to pay for mine, as I had eaten about half, and it was mostly the wontons themselves that were the problem. The server was pretty uncooperative; their version of a compromise was to charge full price and send him home with it - the issue was not simply that he didn't eat it, it also made him sick, which we had clearly stated multiple times. They then tried to tell him that it was his fault for ordering the wrong dish, which is nonsense as he has had the same elsewhere. He did end up only paying for mine, but they were incredibly rude and passive aggressive. Very disappointed in the first pho place we tried since...
Read moreUpdate: I've dined in several times this year and I'm disappointed in the decline in their food portion and flavour. They increased their prices, which is completely understandable due to the inflation. However, the portion of noodles and meat are substantially smaller, the broth tastes watered down, and bun bo hue lacks flavor. I thought it was just one day, but the last two visits left me feeling unsatisfied.
By far, my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Langley. The bbq grilled pork and chicken are moist and tender. Pho and bun bo hue is great for the cold weather and full of flavors and generous portions of meat. Staff are friendly, and the service is prompt. It's not as nice looking as its competitor nearby, but the food and the service is top notch. And the ventilation is poor inside, be prepared to smell like grilled food for the...
Read moreGreat little family owned Vietnamese restaurant. You can tell that the owners really care about quality. I had the beef ball and rare beef pho, it was great and really hit the spot for me. The broth in the Pho was amazingly flavorful, they had a good amount of add ins and a decent amout of meat. Everything was fresh, came out quickly and we loved it. My wife and son really enjoyed their meals too, my son had the wonton soup with bean sprouts and my wife has the beef ball pho. We shared a salad roll to start too, which was very good. I would definitely be back...it is a great location... we stopped on the way to watch the Giants game. I would definitely recommend...
