My partner and I come to the keg for dinner quite often for special occasions. We were really excited to eat steak and recommended to go here for my mothers birthday. We called in and made a reservation in advance for a party of 5 and got sat in the corner(which was fine). Our server started off with good service but once we got all our main courses they were nowhere to be seen. My partner had requested for a new york striploin, "chicago style". When it came to the table the steak was not chicago style so we sent it back nicely. We asked for medium rare and when it came back a second time they put the SAME piece of striploin on the grill and made it more charred only on one side, in which it led to the steak being cooked more than the desired wellness. We are usually not complainers so my partner decided to brush it off and not make a huge issue about it since it was for my mothers birthday. The prime rib I had ordered was cooked how I liked it but the side vegetables were cold. When my fathers plate came out, his double baked potato was black to the point that it looked burnt. Again, we just requested for a new baked potato which I appreciate in them giving. Usually my father enjoys steak however it was not cooked to the standard we normally eat. His steak was very salty, and his medium rare was cooked to a medium well and extremely tough to eat for a striploin. We ordered 2 "medium rare" steaks and both ended up being significantly more well done compared to the other 3 steaks requested to be cooked to a "medium". After we made these comments in the beginning of our meal, our server wasn't to be seen until we asked for the bill and some water(Mind you my brother had 3 glasses of water that was already on our table because our server was nowhere to be found to fill up our water until the end). We had to grab to-go containers from another server who placed extra containers on the side table because we were in the corner and no one was walking by. We decided to opt out of dessert as we were not that happy to stay much longer. Our time was utterly disappointing, and I felt super upset with our experience in both the food and the service. Maybe it was an off day for them but our family of 5 spent over $400 including tip and I wish we did not choose the keg for my...
Read moreI’m writing to share a deeply disappointing experience I had during our recent visit on Mother’s Day — a day meant to celebrate and enjoy time with loved ones, which unfortunately turned into an upsetting ordeal due to repeated mistakes and unacceptable service. I ordered my steak medium rare, a straightforward request that was mishandled not once, not twice, but three times. The first and second steaks served were significantly undercooked — closer to blue rare than medium rare, completely cold and raw in the center. This isn’t a matter of slight preference; they were not safe or enjoyable to eat. When I politely raised the issue, I was met not with concern or a willingness to correct the mistake, but rather with condescension and hostility. A member of your culinary management team came out and told me I was "crazy", insisting that what I was served was medium rare — despite the visual and textural evidence to the contrary. This kind of response is both unprofessional and unacceptable in any service setting, let alone during a special occasion like Mother’s Day. I was then brought a third steak — this time, not only was it a completely different cut, but it was overcooked to the point of being well done. At this point, I had completely lost trust in your kitchen’s ability or willingness to get the order right, and frankly, I gave up. What should have been a celebratory meal turned into a stressful and frustrating experience that put a damper on the entire day. I’m sharing this not just to vent frustration, but because I believe that if a restaurant wants to uphold any standard of quality and hospitality, these kinds of situations need to be acknowledged and addressed. Being served incorrectly prepared food is one thing — being dismissed and insulted when trying to resolve it is another entirely. I hope you take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to reflect on both your kitchen practices and customer service approach. No guest should be made to feel disrespected or unheard, especially when the mistake...
Read moreWent in on a blizzardy Monday night. I understand the new Covid regs but im pretty sure the intent of reducing the restaurant occupancy by 50% is to spread everyone out. Not close all seating except a corner where you jam everyone into the same area. Kind of defeats the whole purpose. I also must preface this by saying we first tried the keg in Abbotsford but it was closed!? So braved the elements to get to Langley and albeit a little later than dinner service usually is…we made it in time to order pistachio crusted salmon with wedge salad replacement of mashed potatoes and prime rib with what was supposed to be a twice baked and a Cesare. Although mistakenly the potatoe was replaced with a baby Cesare salad. So we asked for the twice baked as well. See the pics for what we got - that is the top of the potatoes (usually the best part) which we easily just lifted off the potatoe and placed on the bed of excessive onion frazzle that was provided??? That was dumped off the plate by us. What is that??? Why??? I feel if that is something someone wants - let them ask for it. No need to mess up an entire plate with it!. Also. Don’t get a side wedge salad - see the pic for what that looked like. They used the same amount of cheese and dressing as if it was 4x the lettuce. Was actually inedible. Server was okay - she made sure she didn’t make eye contact after she served that potatoe. But she was quick to offer a free piece of billy miner pie so we felt somewhat redeemed. The salmon was cooked to perfection and so was the prime rib. So a 5 star for the proteins but a 3 star for the entire meal and the accompaniments. So 4 star average. Side note: I have been coming here since the parking lot was gravel and it made me kinda sad to see/feel the energy that is left here in the wake of Covid 😞. Hopefully we get the old energy...
