I went to Saba for brunch w my friend yesterday and we had an unpleasant experience. I asked the waitress if they could substitute the eggs for something else since I don’t eat eggs, she was very happy w my request but she agreed to substitute them for some avocado. Then our order came and there was no meatballs on my dish, and the dish comes with meatballs. I told her that the meatballs were missing and she kind of blamed for it. I guess she thought I was a vegan when I said I don’t eat eggs… so she probably ordered it without the meatballs. Then she brought the meatballs a couple of minutes later and they were frozen/cold in the middle. I complained to her and she said she would bring another one, but I told her I didn’t want it anymore since I was almost done eating and already full, while waiting for the meatballs… then she brought the bill and I asked if they would charge the full amount and she said yes. Very nicely I told her that she brought my order wrong, then I had to wait a while for them to bring the meatballs and when it finally came, they were frozen inside. I said this wasn’t fair. Again, I was very kind while explaining everything and instead of her sympathizing with the situation she had an unpleasant attitude and would barely look and talk to me. Then she brought the bill again without charging for my meal which I think it’s the least they could do. The point is, as a costumer I didn’t feel appreciated and understood, the other server I talked to was very pleasant but the one that was serving me wasn’t very nice. At the end I even said it wasn’t personal it was just that I didn’t think it was fair for them to charge me in full after so many mistakes. She didn’t even look at me… and made me feel very uncomfortable. I was nothing but kind and respectful. I’ve worked all my life with costumer service and that wasn’t by far a good service and because of it I will never go back and I will not recommend this restaurant for any...

FOR A REAL REVIEW, READ THIS: Not only am I a local guide, I live locally. I know all the shops here. I know most of the owners, and I get all the gossip and feedback from residents. The people at Saba are literally a stain on the community. I went to Blacksmith Bakery across the street a few months ago, and was going to leave them an excellent review, as their coffee and pastries are absolutely amazing. When I was leaving a review, I noticed some downright horrible reviews, and wondered "how could that be?" I look at the name on the review, and I recognized the person as an employee at Saba... lol. Seriously, can't make this up. I decided to investigate a little and went into Saba to compare. It's ridiculous. They literally copy everything Blacksmith does. They even have cookie necklaces for kids that Blacksmith makes. I don't mind friendly competition, but resorting to childish tactics like getting employees to smear your competition with fake reviews is absolutely pathetic. I will never give my busines to them again, and luckily its not a hard decision, as Saba's coffee is mediocre at best, and depending on who you get to make it, it could be horrible, as their employees are not well trained. They also don't make any of their own pastries, and instead bring them into the Fort from outside sources, so they're not fresh. I am not affiliated with Blacksmith in any way, but WHY would anyone go to Saba when they could go across the street to Blacksmith and get an amazing coffee made with locally roasted beans and brewed in a $20,000 La Marzocco expresso machine, and a fresh out-of-the-oven pastry that was made in-house by a pastry chef who trained in Europe?...

Feature sandwich of the day today was an inedible steak sandwich.. highlight was that the meat was cut lengthwise instead of cross cut and sinuy . My dog had trouble chewing it. The bread fell apart due to the greasy onions and veggies.. The lemon ice tea helped swallow down the remains of half which was all I could stomach. The soup of the day potato bacon was welcome though thoroughly sieved except for the bits of bacon and light green in color outside in the sunshine. The ambience was of roaring truck traffic turning from river road directly next to the sidewalk tables and 2 trains so loud they shook the ground and scared my mastiff dog. Cost was over $30 for this experience and no napkins for the grease. Glad to continue our stroll. However my stomach disagreed and a half hour later I begged to go home for the relief of having an open washroom to use.

Forgot to mention wooden cutlery given to eat soup had a spoon so shallow that flipping it over gave the same result in usage. The server who took the order although friendly had to check on every question asked even though simple such as soup of the day. After the third check it became tiresome. I tipped none the less but minimally.

The sidewalk tables the first one was too close for social distance to another diner. The second was over an ants nest and they crawled on the table. The third was over uneven bricks so bad the to go cup slid down the table. The fourth one had metal chairs to bendy to provide support for both myself and daughter. The fifth by the door totally...

This is a really great café. What made me want to come there were all the delectable baked goods they had on display from what I saw on their Google page. When I first came there, it was very busy, on account the Saturday farmer’s market that was taking place. Even then, however, I still found seating inside the café. At the counter, I ordered the Breaky Bowl with the Breve Café Drink and a Salted Caramel Pecan Walnut Bar. The caramel bar was pretty good, if not a little chewy. The Breve tasted very good, having that strong espresso taste and intensity to it. The Breaky Bowl was great; all the ingredients were sauteed very well, the cheese had that nice gooey consistency and the bacon was nicely saline and really savoury. The establishment has a bigger space than most cafes, especially with the back outdoor dining area. The staff were friendly and professional with no complaint to think of against their work ethics. I hope to come back there again, so I could really enjoy their bakery selections. The Saba Café really is a great place for a meal or a caffeinated drink.

Fort Langley was recommended to us, so we stopped by for refreshments on route to Chilliwack. The amazing display of baked goods at Saba Cafe got us. It was rather difficult to make a choice and we decided that we would have to keep coming back in order try various items. For our first visit, we chose Orange Cake and Berry Scone. The cake was sweeter than I am used to, but the slice of candied orange on top provided the necessary balance, it's like eating a succulent orange cake with orange marmalade on top. The berry scone was boring in comparison and I wish it didn't have such a generous sprinkling of rock sugar. The coffee drinks were properly made and enjoyable. I noticed that they even have Healthy Hooch Pear and Ginger Kombucha which will be nice for hotter days. The counter service staff was very courteous and pleasant. I would dearly like to try their brunch. But since we have to drive more than an hour to get here, I suspect the wait for a table will be quite long on the weekends. We will be back!

Took a day off and headed to Fort Langley with my wife — couldn’t believe how lively the town was! It took us a good 15 minutes to find parking, and with the crowd around, we decided to check out this bustling café. Despite the long line, the café had a clever system: a friendly staff member took orders while we were still in the queue, so by the time we reached the counter, all we had to do was give our name. Efficient and thoughtful — definitely deserves a thumbs-up for that. As for the food, it was decent and up to standard — nothing particularly surprising, but nothing disappointing either. What stood out was their impressive selection of baked goods, all beautifully displayed and looking very tempting. Overall, it’s a warm, welcoming spot with genuinely great service and solid food. A pleasant little find in a charming town.
