Went here with high expectations based on facebook reviews and while they may hit those expectations in the future, they have a little bit of self-identity issues to work through yet :)
Thoughts and observations: Music changed from Mexican to 80s to Christmas while we were there for 25 minutes over lunch The record player wasn't in use, sadly The tortillas used for the burritos were cold While there was some basic flavour, there was no differentiation factors as to what makes Little Donkey stand out and no kick to their burritos - though each table/station had some form of chiptole hot sauce available in a cute little donkey-pulling-a-cart-stand-for-the-hot-sauce High ceilings and lots of space but uncomfortable stools and seating arrangements We ordered our burritos "to stay" and they still came wrapped in butcher-paper with a quaint sticker holding it all together, hand delivered. No basic or munchables or tortilla chips while we waited or ?? Seems like a really good food-truck idea trying to find out how to make a hipster bistro vibe work
Location - 7/10 - parking is super challenging, though easily accessible off of main drag Service - 7/10 - basic expectations met at till, lower than expected on food delivery Flavour - 6/10 - basic bordering on bland (especially without add-on hot sauce) Size/Portion - 7/10 - solid-sized burrito, no accoutrements or "while-you-wait-munchies" Veggie Options - 8/10 - present and clearly available Vibe - 6/10 - The Little Donkey still isn't quite sure what it wants to be when it grows up Will we go back - Probably check it out 6 months from now to see where it's at Recommendation - Try it once, see what you think - reserved...

After what my be my 6th trip to Little Donkey, I would have to say that is now waaaaaayyyy better than the first time I went. Each and everytime they seemed to have improved. My last burrito was the best by far. A loaded "Little Donkey" that was the perfect temp, absolutely full to the brim with great tasting ingredients and worth the $11+tax. Finally happy to say this place has hit it's stride. Totally recommend.
A fun, local company that is offering something a bit different than the chains. The price point is just a tiny bit high when you can get something more plentiful and just as fresh at Chipotle or larger and cheaper portion at Taco Del Mar...so for the burrito fix, ya there are better options in Langley. When it comes to Fort Langley, it's a nice variance from the coffee shops and bistros and a great grab and go for those days you are in town for one of the many events or festivals. The burritos aren't going to fill you up to the brim but they are tasty, made with fresh ingredients and worth a try. The seasonal "Gobbler" which is essentially your Thanksgiving dinner wrapped to-go is a must and off the regular menu I am loving the...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePains me to do this. Weāre local regulars and used to think this is one of the best burritos places in BC. Until Our last visit, which was a complete disaster.
The service: On April 29, at 11:22, I called to place our usual order, and the lady confirmed we can pick up in 15-20 minute. I ended up waiting 50 minutes for three burritos. I kept asking her and she just brushed me off saying thereās a ālarge order placed before meā when sheās the one who blatantly lied about prep time. No apology or anything. If I knew it was gonna take almost an hour I wouldnāt have ordered.
The food: Used to be very consistent. Somehow, after 50 minutes wait time, they gave us ice cold burritos, the tortillas were already hardening up. The rice inside was very chewy, 90% certain itās leftover rice. The entire thing was grossly under seasoned and nothing like what weāve had. I hope it was your burrito makerās first day because she was clueless. Had to remake orders multiple times, ZERO quality control, and too slow even for Wednesday traffic.
The Little Donkey we used to visit was very polite and consistent. Honestly very disappointing. I hope it was a one...
