To the new owners: Do you honestly expect to stay in business when you reduce the size of the take-out containers and raise the prices???? Did you not think the long-time Temple customers would not notice this?? All we want is decent value for our hard-earned dollar. The quality of the food has also gone downhill. Worse sweet 'n sour I have ever seen or tasted.
Our Saturday night treat of Chinese take-out left us feeling very ripped off.
What a shame. We "had" been picking-up our Chinese food from the Temple for over 30 years.
REPLY TO OWNER: It is the reduced size of your take-out containers which horrified us the most. We used to order the "Dinner for Three" at least once a month for the last 30 years. The dinner featured Chowmein, Chopsuey, Fried Rice, and Deep Fried Prawns. Sometimes we would add an order of Almond Chicken). It was basic, but good, and plentiful. You no longer have the "Dinner for Three" on your menu, which is a mistake. The typical Aldergrove family consists of two adults and 1 - 2 children). We always had enough leftover for 1 - 2 more meals. I suggest you order something from the Dragon Garden in Langley, just to check-out the size of their containers. They hold at least 30 - 40% more food.
Your quality has always gone downhill - badly! My favourite dish is sweet 'n sour pork. Your sweet and sour was not saturated in sauce as it should be. There was only a bit of sauce at the bottom of the small container. The top of the pork was dry. Even though some extra sauce came in a separate container with the prawns, it was not good sauce Gluey - too much corn starch and little flavour.. (I suggest you order sweet 'n sour pork from the Dragon Garden to see how it looks and tastes). The white sauce on the Honeymoon Fried Rice was also bad. It should be creamy. Yours tasted bad and was watery. Your chowmein was average. Your fried prawns were fair - good. (And about the same number of prawns as most take-out Chinese places). The prawns were the only thing we were satisfied with.
Aldergrove is not a high-income area. Ordering Chinese take-out is a big treat for many families. We expect decent value for a hard-won dollar. I can tell you that reducing the size of your containers will not sit well with your regular (and new take-out customers). A bit of business advice: The only other Aldergrove Chinese take-out (Dragon House in the Countryside Mall) is now closed for a month. This is your chance to make a good impression. Don't blow it!
Throw-out those small take-out containers and improve the food quality - even if it means firing your current cook or you will not survive. I hate to see a local business go under, but unless you do this, I will just go to one of the many sushi restaurants in Aldergrove (all are consistently good and offer the same amount of food) or make the drive to Langley's...
Read moreI have ordered twice since my review below and both times customer Service was awesome. Therefore I have changed my review to a 4 star. I would like to thank them for taking my concern seriously and providing not only food food but good customer Service. Old review below: Food is actually very good. My complaint is about the customer Service. I called in to place an order. I said that I wanted to place an order for delivery. The response was Name Address What do you want How are you paying All good questions but it was just the tone and I don't give a darn attitude. If I hadn't had people over I honestly would have just hung up the phone. The lasting impression was not the good food but the horrible attitude of the person taking the order.
Thank you for responding. I will order again and if the Service is good I will...
Read moreWe always order the same items and they never let us down: Pork fried rice (or House Special), Chicken Chowmein, Beef Chopsuey, Sweet And Sour Pork, and Almond Chicken (sometimes with Lemon Sauce on the side). The food is always great, tonight it was exceptional. Containers are always packed full, delivered hot. Almond Chicken is always crispy and keeps well for leftovers, chow mein and fried rice are tasty and not overly greasy. Beef Chopsuey the vegetables are great variety, always well cooked (we like a little crunch, not soggy) and the sauce goes great with the fried rice. Sweet n Sour Pork has pineapple and bell peppers and onion but a great value of meat /veggie ratio. If you havenât ordered from them in a while I encourage you to...
