Overall, pretty disappointed at this time's food - I've come here before when some items were sold out, so I came again to get the ones I missed because I liked my past visit so much that I thought it was worth the 1.5 hour drive. Can't say I got my worth this time but at least I got the chance pick berries. Detailed review below: Burnt ends (1 lb) - I think this was a borderline scam. I was excited for brisket burnt ends, but all I got were super small cubes of brisket flat that were not caramelized but just covered in sauce - you just see that naked grey coloured meat covered in red sauce. However the worst part is (you can also see in the photo) that it was 70% sausage. I don't understand what justifies the price they are selling at, $27.99. The sauce was pretty good though. Beef rib - Singular rib that had smoke flavor but was dry and needed the barbeque sauce. Overall, impressive looking but was not it, $31.99 Platter for 2 - Got this the last time and the star of the show was the pulled pork, last time it was the brisket that was juicy, smokey, and moist. However, this time the brisket was dry and lacking smoke flavour. The sausages were plentiful as always. Mac n cheese side - Saw it being made fresh, nice southern flavor with smokey spices. Overall, it feels like a Velveeta based cheese sauce with smoked paprika. Cornbread (jalapeno) - Nice fluffy, moist, and flavorful cornbread, but no jalapeno flavor, not complaining but there's almost no difference from a regular one. Kind of unfortunate that I liked the cornbread more than the brisket and beef rib this time around.

Went here early cuz I wanted to get the burnt ends before they sold out. I preferred the Texas Sampler which has brisket, pulled pork, sausage and coleslaw. I sub’s slaw for beans for an extra $1.50. I saw them cutting some brisket and it was the end of a piece, it looked dry and not really falling apart like it should be. Didn’t think it was mine until I heard my name called. Thought I’d give it it a chance cuz who knows. Well…. It was the driest prince of meat I’ve ever had. I feel like it was yesterday’s brisket because I was second in line and why would a whole brisket be gone? (I saw the person in front of me get brisket and he got cut off a new big prince of brisket) So the brisket was more than dry and far from tender. The pulled pork was good and the sausage was ok but again the sausage felt like it was from yesterday. Also they barely give you any BBQ sauce and with BBQ it’s about messy and sloppy. The beans were underdone and almost had a crunch to them and not soft and saucy at all. The burnt ends were the best but that’s all because of the sauce. The sausage was meh and again the meat was very tough. I’ve had BBQ in Nashville, Texas and Atlanta and this was mediocre at best. I’ve had better BBQ from chain restaurants here. The whole meal cost me over $40 and definitely wasn’t worth it.

Food was OK. Definatley not "good". We did take out so I get the food will lose some quality there. However, the experience waiting for the food was not so good.

It took a long time to get our food. Considering all the food is already cooked and essentially just needs to be cut up and served, I was very surprised for the amount of time it took for us to get going. But this is not why I gave a 3 star rating.

While I was waiting for my order, along with about 6 other patrons, I noticed that the staff was constantly eating the food they were preparing. There was one employee who originally took our order that I saw continuously eating the food.

Now, to be clear, I am all for kitchen staff to taste the food, and of course take breaks to eat and refuel. However, there is a hygienic way to do it, as well as a time and place.

I would witness this particular employee feed themselves with their hands, and then proceed to handle the slabs of meat right after. As well, chewing food while trying to communicate with the other staff while cutting brisket with your mouth right over the product is a little gross from a customer standpoint. There was a lot of chit chat with full mouths over food product.

A little more professionalism in front of customers as well as better hygienic practices would be appreciated. Would I go back? Probably not. If that is the hygienic standard in front of customers, I can only assume it's a bit worse behind...

Very dissapointed. They are now resting on their laurels. Two yrs ago was when I first has their bbq. It was over the top. Now it is not worth the very large amount of money. The things that accompany the bbq has gone right down hill. I'll never eat there again.

I appreciate the prompt reply. I drive by you 4 days a week and Thursdays I can smell it. Yet I resist the draw because of what I said above. In the early days I loved your product. The slaw was perfect and the peppers and pickles were plentiful. Now the slaw is dry and tasteless and the peppers and pickle very wanting. I can't eat bbq without those accompaniments. It seemed like what was important was raking in the dollars, not the quality. We have met. My names Bob. The day you first set up beside Erica on the grass across from where she is now. I liked you. I wanted to support you. But my money is hard earned and I'll not give it up for inferior quality food. Not at that price. Dennys is another thing. But you're not Dennys. I used to be a chef so I know how important consistency in quality is. It can make or break a small business. If I were to come back I would expect my meal to be like it was when it was just you. You are the one who handed me my box of food. If indeed you are the one. I dont know if someone else is reviewing your reviews...
