We chose Wooden Sticks as our wedding venue for both the ceremony and reception and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. I dreaded going through the process of wedding planning after hearing countless stories of how stressful it can get, but frankly, I thought I was missing something when I found myself not that stressed about the process as a whole. This was mainly thanks to Cathy. Cathy is prompt and professional and runs a well-organized staff at Wooden Sticks. I think throughout the year, I sent 38957398 emails to Cathy asking questions and coordinating between vendors, and Cathy would always respond promptly and be so accommodating as we worked to customize the day to our liking. Without a doubt, I felt reassured from start to finish knowing I could put my trust in Cathy. She was even there for our food tasting dinner, our rehearsal the evening before, and throughout the duration of the wedding day, making sure everything was orchestrated in a clean manner and according to plan. I can't thank Cathy enough, because the day did go as smoothly as it did because of her. Wooden Sticks is a gorgeous venue. Keep in mind that the course stays open during the wedding day, so the course is not only yours, but this was never an issue. We had our wedding mid October and so the sun set around 6pm and were able to sneak on the course for sunset photos without getting in the way of the golfers. It was chilly this time of year, but they have a covered pavilion that Cathy made sure was heated for our cocktail hour. This space was also our backup spot for the ceremony in case it rained, so this was a nice way to ease the mind. We did a first look there, too, which worked out really well for getting more photos in. We stayed in one of the cabins and that was also very cozy and well kept. It felt like a little cottage. Above all, we need to give our compliments to the chef and kitchen staff, because the food was beyond incredible. We got so many compliments not only on the quality of the food, but the amount of it. Our guests were not hungry, that's for sure! Cathy and the staff helped us ensure that those with food restrictions were taken care of. The reception area has a large bar, which worked really well for the flow of people around the space. We had about 120 people at our wedding, which felt perfect for the space. Overall, we are incredibly thrilled about the experience we had and felt like royalty having our wedding at Wooden Sticks. We highly...
Read moreI had the pleasure of playing Wooden Sticks yesterday with a few friends and the round came with a free lunch. I obviously went with the hot dog.
Let me start this review with saying, I had very high hopes for this dog. Wooden Stick's in a phenomenal golf course with legendary customer service and highly reviewed food. I must say, the hot dog did not disappoint.
The hot dog was ordered from my cart at the half-way house, which kept the pace of play quick, and very convenient. Customer service was excellent.
Now for the dog itself. Thrown right on the hot grill, made to order. It can't get any better then that. Perfectly cooked with excellent taste and texture., this dog was absolutely amazing. The bun was soft, with textbook bun/dog ratio. Thoroughly enjoyed this hot dog.
The only thing hindering this hot dog experience was the lack of garnishes. The standard ketchup, mustard and relish were available, and upon request I was able to get onions and tomatoes.
If more garnish options were available, and a toasted bun option had have been offered, this hot dog review score may been perfect. Even still, I am rating this hot dog with the highest score to date at a 4.4, would highly recommend you stop by Wooden Sticks...
Read moreWent here for a work tournament and wow what a course! Beautiful, nice carts with a gps screen telling you the distance to the green from your location, which makes selecting clubs a little bit easier if you know your distances.
The price of my tournament through my work is substantially cheaper than standard green fees, however I have came here on my own dime qnd believe it is still worth it.
Edit: June.27.2021
Returned again for work tournament after a one year absence due to covid. Our tee time was 1040am, they give you 20min to use practice facilities for driving or putting area so you can be ready for the first hole, don’t want to spend couple holes warming up on this course. There are washrooms open on the course and a drink cart does come by.
I have been golfing a lot since I first did this review 2 years ago, the course is just as impeccable from tee box to green and I have definitely got better so that helps. It’s not too narrow but if your tee shot likes to wander it has some water and pretty sizeable beaches if you looking for a tan. Great everything here...
