My recent visit to Afghani Kabul Donair was nothing short of disappointing. The poor service I encountered left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, and I feel compelled to share my frustrating experience.
Upon placing my order and paying for it, I thought I had completed the transaction and was ready to enjoy my meal. However, when my food was served, I realized they had forgotten to request utensils. Assuming this would be a simple and reasonable request, I approached the worker and politely asked for utensils to accompany my meal.
To my astonishment, the worker's reaction was far from accommodating. He displayed a look of irritation, as if my request was an unforgivable inconvenience. Despite having already paid a tip when I placed my order, I found his response utterly discourteous and uncalled for.
Reluctantly, and with a face of disappointment, he finally provided me with utensils, making me feel like a burden rather than a paying customer. This lack of basic courtesy left me deeply dissatisfied with my overall dining experience.
The disappointing service experience was further compounded by the quality of the food itself. Instead of enjoying a delicious and satisfying meal, I was met with subpar quality and underwhelming flavors. It was a letdown in every sense of the word.
In summary, my visit to Afghani Kabul Donair was marred by a lack of basic customer service and an unexpected inconvenience when requesting utensils, despite having already paid a tip earlier. The worker's disapproving attitude cast a shadow over the entire experience, and the mediocre food failed to make up for it. I would strongly advise potential diners to consider other options in the area, as this establishment falls short in both service and...
Read moreGUYS. Listen, this place is a real hidden gem. I've been living next door for the longest time & only just now got to trying it— the food absolutely blew me away. Every ingredient was so meticulously prepared, from the saffron-infused rice to the multi-layered salad to the absurdly delicious donair. The people lining up outside of Chung Chun's for a cheese dog are SLEEPING ON DONAIR TOWN. Get #8, it's the best. The flavor is unbeatable & unmatched, and I've travelled thru 38 countries, including Greece. It's 10:24am and all I'm thinking about right now is getting more as I write this review. OH, and it's so dang affordable ugh why didn't I try this place sooner?? Also, the owner is extremely nice and very clearly passionate about his cuisine. He actually signed both my receipt and my friend's and guaranteed a full refund if we were not satisfied with the food because he was that confident in its quality (as he should be). As he was serving us, he told us about each of the ingredients, like his homemade sauce that's a family recipe. Very impressive service, very impressive food, very impressive guy. Honestly, more people need to know about it. I know I sound so extra writing this review but I'm such a foodie & this place genuinely excites me... Go and see...
Read moreI recently visited Donair and unfortunately had a disappointing experience despite hearing good things about the place. When I entered, I asked for a Donair plate, and the guy at the front charged me $18 right away which was completely fine. However, without even asking me what I wanted, he started adding various items to my plate, including parsley. I immediately informed him that I am allergic to parsley and that he should ask before adding things to my order.
Before I could even finish explaining, a woman—who I later found out was the co-owner—interrupted and said I should have used the iPad to place my order. I was taken aback and pointed out that the issue was not about how I ordered, but about the fact that the staff did not ask me what I wanted on my plate. When I asked her to speak with her husband about the situation, she confirmed they were the owners, but her response didn’t feel apologetic. Instead, she seemed dismissive of my concern.
The lack of communication and professionalism from the owners is absolutely unacceptable. It’s frustrating when people running a business don’t take the time to ensure that customers’ needs and preferences are respected, especially when allergies are involved. I won’t be...
