Dear friends, DO NOT GO HERE. This is the WORST place to have food.
Very rude and unfriendly staffs. I came in with a friend and asked “Can we have a spot for two?” and the employee answered bluntly “Name?” without looking at me.
After that, we waited to be called. We were talking so we didn’t hear him later, but it was the third of fourth call so that was not such a big deal. But when we walked in and SINCERELY APOLOGIZED him, he stared at us and was verry pissed. He didn’t say anything and just led us to a tiny spot for two. After that, he literally just threw the menus at us like master throwing balls at doggos. I had no idea if this place had staff training at all.
We went through menu and picked two dishes. The food was acceptable, but definitely not recommended. There are many better Chinese restaurants in Vancouver, don’t spend a single dollar here.
Another waitress gave us food rudely by again, throwing the dishes at us as if we were pets. I finally figured it out how they train employees. I bet they probably let them practice delivering food for pets during training. That’s very effective tbh, in telling customers to go away.
During the meal, I asked for more tea. I gently asked the guy “Excuse me, can we have more tea?” and he literally showed his index finger to tell me to wait. I’m sorry, but does it take that long to say “Can you wait for me a little bit?”.
The way he poured tea was similar to how I poured water for my cat. Tea almost splashed into my face as he poured it so fast. This guy probably just wanted to have it done and go home. It shows that he is also a very good example of the deadly “amazing” training Dinesty had for employees here.
After finishing all the food, I decided to talk to the manager. She came over and smiled in a friendly way. I thought “oh finally there is a well-trained employee here” for a second. But HELL NO! I told her about what happened, and she DIDN’T CARE about what I said. She kept nodding her head and repeated “Yes” “Yes” to get the conversation done. I asked her “Are you even listening to me?” and she still said “Yes” “Yes” like a robot. I didn’t even finish my sentence and she already said yes. I guess she should be a fortune-teller, not a Chinese restaurant manager.
Eventually, she said sorry but it was a very neglecting apology. She even smiled as if her goal to DISSATISFY customer was finally accomplised. Good job manager!
Dinesty should also be called Die-Nasty since this place truly dried my energy and left a nasty scar in my memories. Thank you Die-Nasty, and NEVER ever...
Read morePeering into the kitchen, seeing the hustle and bustle of their cooks and chefs working in synergy, the place transports you to another continent. The experience seems promising, yet I was contemplating leaving before I even ate. Now, why only two stars you might ask? The food was above average; however, the service was atrocious, and that is an understatement. Everyone has bad days, and mistakes happen, it's understandable, but there are ways to address them, and they had failed miserably.
2nd Review 2022: I don’t normally write a 2nd review but this place deserves it. After having guests over for the Holidays, they craved some dumplings and I thought why not, everyone deserves 2nd chances. We showed up at 1:40PM and they mentioned they were closing at 2:30PM, not bad we thought as we were hungry: red flag number 1. My in laws were from Eastern Europe and proceeded to ask the server about the menu, not only was the server rude, but she threw a fit and mentioned they are “busy closing” and to hurry up and order: red flag number 2. After ordering, the meals arrived at 2:20PM, in which they actually forgot our order and gave us 10 mins to eat: red flag number 3. Lastly, while trying to eat our delayed meal, we were being stared down and watched by staff, as we were living in a communist country! To top it off, they slammed the bill at our table as soon as we received our meal: red flag number 4.
Take your money elsewhere, your food might be good but the establishment needs to remind itself that they are in hospitality. Never again and good riddance. Worst restaurant experience I’ve had...
Read moreAfter a day of walking in Stanley park, we were super hungry. We found this restaurant on Google Maps. It looked promising and we really wanted to have a great time.
First. They sent us shrimp dumplings instead of pork, my friend is mildly allergic to shrimp and he took a bite before noticing. Staff did the bare minimum by bringing our real ordered dish. No gratuity was offered besides, no checking on my friend's reddening rash. They weren't very concerned.
The 蔥油餅 scallion pancake was clearly leftover dough from previous day to save money, which is why it lost all its layers and was so tough that nobody at our table was able to finish it. We asked about if it was normal. The kitchen had the gall to reply that it was as intended so its more "crispy". We ordered scallion pancake very often at various restaurants and this was, I can honestly say, the very worst and toughest pancake. We were put off by they way they treated us like if they knew better.
The 酸辣湯 hot and sour soup was so spicy it felt they poured the entire bottle of white pepper. We couldn't really taste anything else than white pepper. The work and amount of ingredients were decent though.
Sometimes errors can happen, and at a busy restaurant we can understand. But at least have the decency to not insult your guests. I will not step foot in another Dinasty restaurant anywhere. Maybe you don't really care about losing me and my friends as customers, but I bet your staff have treated other people like this...
