Never going back again thanks to their disrespectful employees. Just a warning, this will be a long read.
We received the same horrible service as another user on here. We got to the restaurant just a few minutes after 10pm on a Tuesday night. Me and my friends, knowing that the restaurant closes at 11pm ordered within 5 minutes of sitting at our table. Once we got our food, the server immediately brings us our bill and asked us to pay right there and then. Me and my friends said sure, we didn't mind since we knew they were closing soon.
Our bill came to about $27, I gave the server $40 and he quickly gave us just over $12 in change. I took the $10 bill from the change tray and as I was putting it in my wallet, our server takes the tray back containing just over $2 in coins. I was going to put more money in the tray for tips but decided not to say anything, I thought I'll just leave more tips on the table before we leave.
After taking a few bites of my food, I asked our server for a take-out container as I knew I wouldn’t finish the entire bowl. They have a sign in the store saying there’s a fee for take-out containers, 25c for a small and 50c for a medium. He brings us a medium container but refuses to take payment for it saying it’s fine.
At this point, we’re halfway through our food when we start hearing them talking about us while seated just a few tables away. They we’re speaking in Cantonese thinking we wouldn’t be able to understand them. One of the employees said “I only gave them the take-out container for free because I thought they were leaving already” while another one was complaining about how I only gave them $2 in tips. Needless to say, I did not leave any more tips for them.
I have visited this place more times than I can count and the food has always been great but, after discovering how they talk about their customers, we’re never coming back. Lastly, I should mention that me and my friends were out the door...

Long gone are those days - went to the Fraser St location this late afternoon and my experience was sub par.
I went at 5:00pm, as they have 'happy hour' special - 10% off your bill between 3:30-6pm. Before being invited further in to a table they take your temperature. Second, they seat you and take your contact tracing information. Perfect.
We're given the usual pen and ordering papers; you order a soup base, toppings, noodle type and a hot/cold beverage. The restaurant wasn't too busy, perhaps 3-4 tables eating/ready to pay. Staff was busy tending to the phone and running to the back, therefore I had to get up and drop off the order sheets to the till for them to get processed.
Long story short my hot milk tea arrived after my meal, and after asking them 2x to please check up on our drinks - both hot milk tea. First time the server said its coming, second time (halfway done our meals) the server rudely said to 'wait!' in Cantonese. By the time the drinks were brought we had already finished our food. The hot milk tea was extremely bitter too! We quickly left the establishment without finishing our drinks as we didn't want to linger any longer due to covid.
Tldr: unfriendly, borderline rude service. Beverages came after finishing meal. Long gone are the days of speedy, affordable friendly service. One star for food, one star...
Read moreI am not complaining about the quality of the food (mediocre, but very good value). This has got to be close to one of the worst restaurant experience.
The server brought our bill over before we were even closed to finish. Trying to be understanding, I decided to make the payment. While looking through my wallet for the appropriate bill, the server removes my noodles - WITH A 1/3 OF THE BOWL LEFT!!! I look up and voila! - an empty table.
I asked the server to comeback with my noodles to NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF MY EXISTENCE, but another server quickly takes my money sitting on the table beside the bill. Only when I raised my voice, did I get some stares from the server. No apologies, no words, just server saying to another in Chinese "make him another one." - AND THEY TOOK MY MONEY REGARDLESS!
I realize this is probably a crap job for you as a server, but you are still getting paid. Taking it out on the customer doesn't help the public perception of Asian food being cheap because you shouldn't expect decent services to go along with it. At the end of the day, things like these happen, but it's just remarkable to see how many fails can possibly be achieved before... well... there wasn't even a resolution.
I will no long eat here on principle. You make semi tastey food for good price, but the damage you do our ethnic reputation while operating cannot be measured in...
