I had a very disappointing experience at your restaurant recently, on 6th October on Sunday, and I feel compelled to share it so management can address some serious issues with staff training and professionalism.
My friends and I came in to enjoy a meal, but from the moment we placed our order, things went downhill. The waitress who took our order was noticeably distracted. In the middle of attending to us, she literally ran out of the restaurant to talk to someone outside. It was clear that a friend had visited her, and she seemed more focused on them than on doing her job. This lack of attention was frustrating, but we tried to be patient.
After waiting 20-25 minutes for our food, the same waitress came back and asked us to repeat the entire order, as if she had forgotten it. I was already unhappy, but my friend kindly repeated it. Then, just five minutes later, a different waitress approached us with the strange statement, “I don’t want to freak you guys out,” and proceeded to ask us to repeat the order again! At this point, it was evident that there was zero communication among the staff, and it was getting ridiculous.
Despite our patience, I was growing upset by the lack of professionalism. When I asked how much longer the food might take, the second waitress just kept apologizing and seemed inexperienced in handling the situation. What made things worse was how she kept pushing us to accept some complimentary offer, even though I had already said multiple times that it was fine, and we would wait for the food.
The final straw came when this second waitress made a comment about my "straight face" and not smiling, and then asked me not to leave a bad review because her manager might find out. This was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. I understand that mistakes happen, but this was not the way to handle the situation. The fact that she even mentioned the first waitress was distracted by her friend visiting and forgot to punch in our orders which should never have been shared with a customer.
This entire experience showed a clear need for better staff training, especially in handling mistakes and communicating among themselves. I hope the management takes this seriously, as it was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've had.
It’s a shame because I’ve ordered from this restaurant on Uber Eats before, and the food has always been great, which is why I decided to dine in this time. The food itself is definitely good, but the service during this visit left a really...
Read moreI recently visited Momos Hut, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The restaurant specializes in momos, and they truly excel in their craft. Here's my review of some of their signature dishes:
Momos: The Momos at Momos Hut are absolutely delicious. The dumplings were perfectly steamed and had a thin, delicate skin. The filling was flavorful and well-seasoned. They offer a variety of options such as vegetables, chicken. Each bite was a burst of flavors, and they were served with a delightful dipping sauce that complemented the momos perfectly.
Momos Jhol: If you're looking for a heartier option, I highly recommend trying their Momos Jhol. It's a traditional Nepalese dish where momos are served in a flavorful, spicy soup. The soup had a rich broth infused with aromatic spices that elevated the overall taste. The momos soaked up the flavors, making each bite incredibly satisfying. It's a must-try for those seeking a unique and comforting twist on momos.
Chinese Bhel: Momos Hut also offers a fusion dish called Chinese Bhel, and it was a delightful surprise. This dish combines the flavors of Chinese cuisine with the crunchiness of Indian street food. The Bhel consisted of crispy noodles, colorful vegetables, and a tangy sauce that tied everything together. It was a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors, making it a great appetizer or snack option.
Fried Chicken Momos: If you're a fan of fried food, you cannot miss out on their Fried Chicken Momos. These momos were deep-fried to perfection, resulting in a crispy exterior while maintaining the juicy and tender chicken inside. The combination of the crunchy coating and the flavorful chicken filling was a match made in heaven. It's a delicious twist on the classic momos that is sure to satisfy your cravings.
Masala Tea: To complete the meal, I ordered their masala tea, and it was a delightful way to end my dining experience. The tea was perfectly brewed with a blend of aromatic spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger. It had a comforting warmth and a rich flavor that was incredibly soothing. It was the ideal accompaniment to the momos, balancing out the spices with its smooth and fragrant taste.
Overall, Momos Hut is a fantastic place to indulge in delicious momos and other delectable dishes. The quality of ingredients, the skillful preparation, and the bold flavors make it a standout restaurant. Whether you're a momo enthusiast or simply looking to try something new, Momos Hut is definitely...
Read moreWe’ve been regular customers at this restaurant and usually come here for special occasions because we genuinely liked the food and the atmosphere. However, our recent experience was unexpectedly disappointing, not because of the food, but because of the way we were treated afterward.
This time, while most of the food was okay, one particular dish was too salty for our taste. We didn’t want to make a fuss, so we simply left it uneaten and continued with our evening. After finishing our meal, using the washroom, and paying the bill with tips, we left the restaurant as usual.
What shocked us was that someone whom we believe to be the manager (also the cook, as the server informed us) followed us outside. He asked us if something was wrong with the food because there was leftover food on the plate. At first, I thought he was just seeking feedback, and I kindly told him the dish was bit salty for us. He responded by saying, “You should have told us. We could have remade it.” which I appreciated and agreed to do next time.
But then, the tone suddenly changed. He told us it was “an insult to the cook” to leave food uneaten and that customers must either finish their food or take it home. We were honestly shocked. We paid for the food, it should be our choice whether to finish it or not. If something doesn’t meet our expectations, we’re under no obligation to eat or carry it home. That’s what reviews and feedback systems are for.
Following a customer out of the restaurant and confronting them in that way is not acceptable service behavior. It turned a lovely outing with my husband and friend into a very uncomfortable experience. Feedback should be welcomed not taken as a personal insult.
On a positive note, I do want to mention that the server was very kind and provided good service throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the experience with the manager overshadowed everything else.
Sadly, after this incident, we won’t be coming back. Hospitality is more than just good food, it’s also about how customers are treated, especially when things don’t...
