I was looking for a banh mi and this was the closest to where I was. I got to Fraser and I was certainly tempted by the Indian, Chinese, Mexican and other ethnicities of food but I stayed true to the craving. I walked in I was ushered to the back for take out. I ordered the Lemongrass chicken and though the sign was clear, I missed it, cash only under $20???Get a new merchant provider, debit only is fine, fees are not as bad as credit card but cash under $20? Luckily I happened to have $10 with me. While I was waiting there was a customer who claimed she had been coming for 30 years and was super upset with the way she was treated.. as I looked around there were dozens of broken down card boxes, it looked like they were hoarding cardboard. The Kent street recycling is 5 minutes away. I bring this up because it is about pride of your restaurant, what else is not looked after? I got my sandwich took it to my car, chicken was warm, good sign, but after the first bite sauce dripped out of the bottom of the sandwich dripping all over my clothes. I have eaten my fare share of lemongrass chicken bahn mi and never have I had one with dripping brown goop. I am not certain what it was, mayo, hoisin, soya sauce? I have not been to Vietnam so I have no idea what a “real” bahn mi is like but I am certain they are not saucy. The reviews were good for their Pho so maybe I bought their weakness but knowing there are many other shops within a 5km radius, I won’t be returning. Next time I am in the hood Indian or vegan chicken. Please clean up...

Not sure what to have for lunch today? This is your sign to order something from Pho Hong on Fraser!!

My go-to takeout dish from my go-to Vietnamese restaurant is their grilled lemongrass chicken on vermicelli. Since I'm working from home, I'm always looking to sneak in a quick bite to eat in between meetings and work calls. I've found that Pho Hong is always super reliable in getting my take-out orders ready as quick as possible.

Now...about the dish! Their lemongrass chicken is marinated perfectly and still super juicy after being grilled. Mix it up with the fish sauce, pickled veggies, and vermicelli for the perfect bite!

I really enjoy their pho combos, as well, because of their great value. The spring roll is filled with plenty of pork and veggies, and deep-fried to perfection. The pho itself is massive and super filling, coming with plenty of noodles and beef.

They also have a lunch special that features their grilled skewers and spring rolls on vermicelli. I enjoy their lemongrass pork as well, but I just personally prefer chicken 😋

(Pro-tip: Ask for some of their chili oil to bring your meal to the next...

Delicious pho spot in Vancouver!! 😋

My friend and I ate here for dinner after a soccer game. I ordered the Beef Stew Rice Noodle Soup which was recommended to me by the lovely server since it was our first time here. I also ordered a side of spring roll.

The beef stew soup was phenomenal! The broth was very tasty and had a bit of creaminess to it. The noodles were also really good. The beef cuts were thick and tender with a good amount of fat in it that melts in your mouth. The spring roll was large and crispy but I would say price was a bit expensive for one spring roll ($3.95).

The interior was cozy with decent room but it may be harder to get a seat if the place is packed. Luckily we went near closing time so it wasn't that busy.

Our server was friendly and helped me decide which dish to try out because I was deciding between the beef stew and the pho sate. Glad I went with her favourite dish - beef stew, because it was delish! 😋

Parking here at night was a breeze, street parking was very easy to find and it’s actually free to park at night after a certain time, I think after 8 or 9pm. Daytime parking might be a bit more difficult.

Overall, this is a wonderful pho spot in Vancouver and I definitely plan to come back here to try their...

Pho Hong is truly authentic Vietnam Pho Beef Noodle house for over 50 years by three generations. They follow the traditional Hong’s family cooking methods to making the Beef broth for over 13 hours Cooking every day. It’s pure , tasty and warming your hearts. Pho Hong on Fraser had been taken over by the third generation of the family. The new management is Western way but carry on the Hongs’s family Vietnam Traditional cooking way. When you walking into the Restaurant that you are attracted by the center piece of big oil painting of the Vietnam. The staff ware their beautiful smiles to welcome you in and you feel comfortable and relaxing and like your home kitchen food. The food is authentic- Fresh, Spicy , very tastes and yes, Vegetarian’s lover ,too. You have to give it a try to have your own special experience. No doubt that it will be soon to be the best Vietnam beef noodle house in town!
