Very solid ramen noodle place in downtown and I m glad they are opening more locations so it's easier accessible. Cause let's face it. Parking in downtown just such inconvenience.

So the soup, I would say it's a solid 5/5. Nice creamy chicken based soup. It can get a bit overwhelming half way pass the meal. But I tried to add fried garlic or other spice to change the taste a bit. Then it was ok.

Chausiu was very tender and moist. One of the best I had from a ramen shop. A solid 5 points for that.

I would say the egg is the highlight of the meal. It's a must order optional item and it's totally worth it. It was cooked in a perfection way and choice of egg was excellent. As you can see the color of yolk is more orange color than typical yellow yolk. Good job and well done. A solid 5/5

Vege choices was good since it's more of a seaweed type and green onions. It blends in with flavor of soup so it's a solid 5 out of 5.

Now the only imperfection of this meal. It may due to personal preference but anyways. It's their choice of very thin ramen noodle. It was good but I still prefer thicker type of noodle. I noticed some other ramen shop offers thicker noodle as other options and it was awesome to see others doing that. So the noodle I would rate it 3/5.

It's very nice of them offers salt water if you decided to add extra noodle in the middle of meal. Cause extra noodle would water down the taste of soup. So it's a very thoughtful touch by offering salty water to company extra noodle. That is something I don't see other shops do very often.

Staff were very thoughtful and friendly. Keep coming to fill tea and tried to arrange seatings so 5 of us would be more comfortable. I would rate their service 5/5 for sure.

I noticed starting Feb 1 they will no longer accepting card payments. And it will be cash only. That is another down side of that. Inconvenience. I hope it's just downtown store.

Overall it's a very solid ramen shop in Vancouver. It has gotten over 1000 reviews and well over 4 starts ratings. Please offer thick noodle option then it can easily be my...

An international jewel on a side street in Vancouver beautiful British Columbia, Canada . With branches in many countries and several locations in Japan, Marutama Ra-men Restaurant food is unique in many respects. All ingredients, as the restaurant notes are made on premises. Fresh Ramen originally Chinese noodles gained popularity in Japan.

The following is kind of interesting: "Founder Tetsuya Kudo first established MARUTAMA RA-MEN back in April 1st 2001 in Kawaguchi, Japan. It was the last day before his 40 years birthday. His dream was to create the ra-men that people from all over the world could enjoy. Chicken is one of the universal foods that you can find in almost every culture.

This is how he was inspired to create MARUTAMA RA-MEN's signature creamy chicken broth (toripai tan). Since then, many people from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada, and Australia loves MARUTAMA RA-MEN and we wish to continue to spread MARUTAMA RA-MEN to more and more people from different background and cultures."- from Marutama Website.

Marutama chicken broth was really unique. Interestingly enough, all rest of the broth was pork based. All bowls came with pork and none with chicken. Yes, other option was to go chicken broth with all veggies.

Expect long lines in this relativity crowded restaurant. We almost felt guilty, eating because people waiting outside in the weather were literally looking at our food and us. Oh!

Was the ra-men with veggies in chicken broth was good? Certainly delicious. It was probably so authentic that if one had ra-men in Seattle, this dish would be called something different than Ra-men that we know and are crazy about

And as one sees in many restaurants toilets, there is the sign above- the American Koehler...

This place is so cute! The mood is really set from before you even walk in the door. You could walk right past the place, its nestled in such a darling spot on a side street. The tables are quite small and close together, but the interior is extremely clean and the decor is perfect. It's everything I would imagine a ramen shop in Japan would be like, like something out of a movie. They were playing some really nice jazz music and the atmosphere was lively yet we were still able to enjoy an intimate date night dinner. And the food!!!! I had the cha shu tamago ramen with mild broth and it was amazing. Super filling, couldn't get through my whole bowl. The broth is perfect. The seaweed is a superb touch too but the egg!!!! I could live off of those eggs. I've never tasted such a good egg in my life. The noodles are made in house I believe and they have the perfect thickness, texture and taste. Ordered a gingerale and was pleasantly surprised that it came in a chilled bottle with glasses with ice to pour it into. Really a nice touch and elevates things instead of just getting a regular can of pop. You can tell from all the little things such as that that they really care about the customer here. The service was wonderful. Very quick and precise but also very friendly and they don't rush you at all. We got our food really quickly. The bathroom was also really roomy and very clean. The sink is an interesting feature and just adds another layer to making things truly feel as authentic as they are here. Believe the reviews that say this is the top dog of the ramen district because it is. Highly...
