Taken from my Instagram post (amossie): Newly opened restaurant on Robson called 'Flower & Horse in Spring' serving '้ฒๅ้ๆฉ็ฑณ็ท' or translated as 'Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodle' from Yunnan, China. It replaced the recently closed Japanese Italian restaurant, 'Spaghetei'. There is a love story behind the way this particular Chinese cuisine is prepared. It literally involved the wife crossing a bridge with noodle for her husband who was studying for the imperial exam (you can search for the details of the story online). I had the rice noodle bowl with spicy braised pork sauce in soup (B6). It came with shiitake mushroom, bean curd sheet, bean sprout, chives and a marinated egg. Let me tell you, I loved it!! I loved the amount of spiciness loaded in the bowl! I loved the texture of the noodle!! I loved the ่้บปๆนฏๅ (sweet sesame dumplings). My friend ordered the signature 'crossing the bridge rice noodle' combination. In my opinion, I thought mine was better. It was more expensive but being the first visit, it was worth the try. If you order it, you can replay the way the scholar may have prepared and eaten the dish - cooking the ingredients in the extremely hot broth. An excellent choice with the constant downpour of wet 'raincouver' weather. The interior design wasn't what I imagined the restaurant to have and I'm not sure if Canto/Mando pop songs fit the environment but the positive is that the food won my tongue for a...

While crossing by robson, I encountered this noodle soup place far down the robson near denman and gave it a try. My honest review to this place is, it tasted okay, but I prefer the ones outside of downtown. I would come back if I really crave for noodle soup and lazy to go so far. We ordered 3 different items and they all generally have same taste with different meat ingredient. Taste isnโt bad, but nothing so special at the same time โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ ์ต๊ทผ์ ํ์ฐฝ ๊ฝํ ์ค๊ตญ์ ๊ตญ์.
Read moreWe participated in an event called Noodle Mania. Flower & Horse in Spring was one of the restaurants on our tour. To be honest, when my boyfriend and I compared all the menus of the participating restaurants, Flower and Horse in Spring was one where we thought we would like the least. To our surprise it was the best one on our tour and we will definitely go back. We had the Soft and Smooth dish and a noodle soup dish. Both were delicious but the soft and smooth was our favourite. The soft and smooth had soft noodles and smooth tofu (BTW I've never seen my boyfriend even try tofu let alone finish it in a dish) but also crunchy peanuts and perfectly seasoned pork. Service was great and they answered all our annoying questions with a smile on their face. If you are looking to try something new, I would...
