Ordered from Door Dash with my usual very picky order - no this, no that on almost all items. I know. I’m a real treat for restaurants.

That’s why I wasn’t surprised when I got a call from Green Leaf almost right after placing the order. I thought I was going to hear the “sorry, no substitutions for anything” but instead, I was greeted with a very pleasant man who apologized for not being able to substitute a few items I requested. Totally understandable. Restaurants have to draw the line somewhere and as long as they’re not snotty about it, I’m all good.

I told him I’d call him back and let him know our decision as he couldn’t change our Door Dash order on his end and I couldn’t make changes on my end.

Called the restaurant back and asked if I could substitute the items for another item of the same price. He was willing to do it and apologized for the inconvenience.

To me, this is amazing customer service. He offered me solutions. He accepted my idea for a solution. And he apologized for something that was entirely not his fault. It’s my fault for being so picky. And of course, people would usually say, “that’s what a restaurant should do. The customer is always right.” No. That’s not always the case. But Green Leaf was solid here and their customer service was all I needed to write this review because I’ve had their food before and it’s good - good enough that I’m a repeat customer and appreciate their very reasonable prices for consistently good food but I never felt compelled to write a review for them until now. Very happy to support small businesses like this that find a healthy balance between trying their best for their customers and treating them well while still maintaining the integrity of their dishes the way they want customers to enjoy them.

Thank you, Green Leaf. Your food is delicious and your customer service went above and beyond today. BIG thank you from a very...

Wheel chair access is quite difficult because of the awkward ramp but it works, the outside step, directly in front of the main door, is very dangerous way too high and is definately not to code, where are the city inspectors? Please make sure you don't go too early as it has lots of children with mum's, so it's noisey but if go and you have children you will fit in. also, the music isn't my taste and it's way too loud. The ceiling fans are quite dirty the one above us threw off some dust consistently while we were there. Now I have complained about the non food items, the food is not so good either, the miso was not hot barely warm, the Avocado paste was not Avocado but a creamy substance, with colouring, that was absolutely awful. We are sure it had a coloured dye in it, the yams were definately not cooked correctly and they were extremely greasy, broccoli was overcooked and the spicy chop scallop was not done well, the Gioza was ok. The service is fine they are, very polite. we didn't eat most of what we ordered like 90 percent and left it but they wanted to be paid for all the food we left, which we only paid about half. I would give them two stars but the first points really irritated us. We will not go here again. This place is NOT very clean, look around if you don't believe me. But do it during the day not when the evening...

Arrived at 5:30 pm and the server asked for my name. There were two other parties on the list waiting at that moment. Waited outside for 10 minutes and the two parties went in already. A couple then arrived, and they were seated immediately. I went in and checked if we could be seated - as there were still two "bar" seats (basically, the long table by the entrance). The server who I spoke to emphasized that we wont be able to change to "table" seats if we were to take the "bar" seats. I said that's totally fine - as we never requested special seating. She walked away. I was baffled. I approached her again and asked if we could take those two "bar" seats. She reiterated that i wont be able to change to "table" seats. It took me a second attempt with simple english and said "we will take those two seats."

After being seated, we ordered for food and thought that tea would be served shortly after. Nope. We need to ask for tea. After that, we decided to focus on the food and nothing else.

We ordered the aburi combo (flame-seared sushi). The sushi's temperature were not even luke warm, and the sushi rice wasnt completely cooked. Well, at least the taste of the sushi were satisfying.

The reviews enticed me to try this place this evening, and while the presentation is fine, I gotta say, the flavours were just not it. To start, the wasabi was awful, there was zero flavour to it and that ruined the entire experience for me right off the bat. If someone had bothered to check on us at all during our meal, I would have mentioned it, but they didn't. The mango roll had a weird blob of 'Wasabi sauce'(?!) on top but the flavours were pure peanut butter. It was odd, and not good. The salmon oshi & truffle avocado oshi were both fine, but for a place known for this style of sushi, I expected much better. After we finished our meal, we sat for about 15-20 minutes with the empty platter & dishes in front of us while 4 servers stood literally 2 feet from us and didn't offer to take the plates away, or ask how our meal was. (The restaurant was nearly empty at this point) We had to call one over to ask for the bill. There are much better places in Vancouver to get sushi, would not go back here.

Deep fry machine did not work at all today so the menu was very limited today. It was okay though as we were ordering just a few rolls. Our water had some sort of particle inside so we asked for tea instead. There was miscommunication between me and the waitress so our order was incorrect but we were not upset and waited for our order to come out. The part that upset me was when the rolls came out, the avocado was so ripe and the rice was so sticky, the quality was extremely disappointing. I felt bad sending it back to the kitchen again so I just left It even tho the taste was not at par. I've ordered here from the past and go to the Lougheed location and never had food that did not look appetizing served to me. One of the waitress had great customer service but it seemed like the rest did not want to be there. Very unpleasant and hoping this is just an odd bad day for this location. I run a food vlog and was excited to post beautiful photos but unfortunately I cannot.

Green Leaf Sushi has been on my radar for awhile now, but recently, I started to deliver for Doordash and I was fortunate enough to have a couple of deliveries from them. As I waited for the order, I took in the smell and presentation of the food. I knew that I needed to try the food as soon as I could. Fast forward to the next day, it was date night and I really wanted to try their oshi. We ordered their aburi oshi combo which came with 6 types of oshi. Scallops, shrimp, salmon, a roll, tuna, and mackerel. We also ordered their Crispy roll to try out their in house peanut sauce. The Crispy roll is good, definitely a should try but not a must try. As for the oshi, the scallop was my favourite, followed by the tuna, salmon, shrimp, the roll, and lastly the mackerel. The mackerel tasted a bit dry for my taste compared to the other ones I've tried. Overall, it was a great experience as we waited in line for less than 15 minutes and the food came relatively quick.
