African Breese Specialty Foods — Local services in Vancouver

I am South African and I come here every so often for a few years and spend a few hundred dollars to stock up on South African goodies. The staff are always friendly. With my most recent purchase, I noticed that there was a quality issue with one of the products. I called the store, wrote an email and made them aware of it. I specified in my email that I am not writing the email to get free product but just to raise awareness for them to investigate. The owner called me back and we had a really nice conversation. In this day and age, a lot of businesses really don’t take accountability nor operate with integrity and I was pleasantly surprised when this business responded the way they did. I mentioned that I truly love one of their products and lo and behold, I received a package yesterday with a replacement product and some of my favourite product! This makes me proud to be South African and I will continue to support this store. I just wish they would stock or are allowed to import some Ultra Mel custard because that stuff is to die for! I googled South African stores in Vancouver to try and find a place who sells Biltong. This place came up so I decided to try it out. First off, the Hunters Biltong are both my son's and my favorite and we love it here. We come here every week. Secondly, I would like to say that Judy is a wonderful lady. Been going here for a few years and will say they do have good stock of your standard packaged items and great service. On the higher end compared to some competitors ($20 for 6 pack of grapetizer!). The biltong used to be of good quality too but unfortunately has gone down. They switched to these new recyclable brown bags making them not seal proof and effecting the quality and taste.
