Went there with my girlfriend and my daughter. My daughter believed she ordered a particular sushi roll with salmon and received one with tuna. We asked the server if they could change it. We we very polite and respectful and what we got back was what I would have to describe as the worst customer service I've received in over 20 years (I'm 57, my daughter is 19 and a UBC student). She basically told my daughter multiple times that she heard her say tuna and that she (the server) could not have made a mistake and then showed how on her order note book she writes tuna one way and salmon another way. I then said I believed my daughter ordered the salmon and so did my girlfriend. The server refused to back down and said literally "No you didn't, you ordered the tuna". It went back and forth like this at least 4 times, each time the server adamant that my daughter ordered the tuna. She literally argued with us that she could not have made a mistake. This was a simple, inexpensive roll. I was dumbfounded how this was going so I finally said "Well, she does not want tuna so you may as well at least take it away". She then said something like "wait a minute" and went to the back. She then returned and said (and I quote) "Ok we will change it but only this one time" and took away the tuna roll.
Basically after arguing with us over a mistaken order multiple times about who was right and refusing to give in until I finally interjected, she then comes back and admonishes us and says they will only do this one time. We had ordered a bunch of dishes and everything else was fine. What exactly did we do to deserve this? I took my daughter and girlfriend there because we wanted to try it out. Never been there before. And? Never be there again.

Read moreUpdate: After COVID most places hiked prices but not this one! I've still gone there a couple times and NEVER disappointed. They even gave me an extra salmon cone, too! I truly don't know how they make a profit from what they gave me.
I've had sushi from all over Vancouver, but I can't believe the value and quality in what must be my DREAM Bento Box C (scroll down for description)! Albeit, Samurai by Oak center has huge portions, though smaller lately, they don't have a complete menu or Bento box.
My 4 yr old (now 5) loves the yam tempura roll I ordered for him and the kabocha fried cake that came with my Bento- a yummy and interesting surprise. What really has decided this as my future go-to is that when I ordered an extra 2 salmon nigiri, they gave me an extra on the house. I think it's because my toddler and son were driving me bonkers while we were waiting, but it just made my day! Will come again and again, unless we move, ha ha. My dream Bento:
We ordered takeout from Hime Sushi and brought it back for dinner to a friend's house. It was a late night dinner after having gone to see a movie and this restaurant was convenient as it was less than 5 minutes walk from our friend's house. They're a small restaurant and appear to be only doing takeout orders at the moment. On the table we had: Avocado roll, Veggie Gyoza, Tuna Sashimi, Chicken Teriyaki and Tofu Teriyaki.
The Avocado roll and Tuna Sashimi were probably the best items. The Avocado roll was generously packed with avocado, and the tuna sashimi slices looked pretty decent in regards to the thickness of the slices. My daughter said her Veggie Gyoza slices could have been crispier on the outside. She said this one was quite soggy. All of the Teriyaki dishes were extremely plain. They were literally just Chicken or Tofu thrown together with rice and sauce. We'd have appreciated a few more ingredients to have been included. Some veggies and/or even just a pile of bean sprouts would have been an improvement. The teriyaki sauce wasn't exactly spectacular either. We've tasted much better teriyaki sauce.
I think sushi rolls, sashimi and any other cold food is probably a safe bet at this restaurant but can't recommend any of the...
