Decent food, but I would advise against eating here due to scummy practices.
Being a student, my budget is quite tight, but with the student discount Four Olives gives, in addition to the good food, I still come here for more special occasions. Or at least I used to until today's service.
Making a reservation for Valentine's day was no problem as I eat quite late, but this is where thr problems actually begin. The call was very quick and simply confirmed the time, and at no point was I informed of "special changes" for the menu and pricing on this day in particular.
The first, and worst of which was the fact that the main menu was completely foregone in place of a valentines menu with only a single item that could be ordered. This single item being a full course meal worth nearly double what I expected to pay, not including any drinks which I clearly did not order. Leaving me quite disgruntled, but something I could just barely afford, by tightening the budget and after the discount. We were already there, so we stayed.
The good itself taste-wise was as usual, but the portions were much smaller than the last time we had been there, especially since the three course meal was the same as ordering each piece individually. A second point I did not like (note that this difference was quite obvious as I can usually never fully finish a plate, while I had no problem eating all courses today).
Lastly, after having had to order more than expected, and received less than what is the norm, there was also apparently no discount. Not in a single place was it mentioned that the regular discount did not apply today. The two signs outside mentioned the discount as usual, nothing was said during the reservation, and with other students being nearby, they were also quite surprised when they saw the bill. (I knew one of them and they also stated that it was a very unpleasant experience this day and may not return).
If eveything is communicated up front, this can be fine, but to have people expect something and give an entirely different experience is unacceptable. I hope the extra money they made today was worth all the times my friends and I will...
Read moreThis was a Take-Out Order.
The Service, from placing the Order to picking it up, was a positive experience.
The restaurant seemed clean.
This was my experience with Four Olives Restaurant on March 21, 2025.
I have attached photos of the meal including the Spanakopit, Tiramisu, Pita Bread, Potato, Spinach, and Kleftiko.
Spanakopit ($12) Was greasy, a much smaller potion, and did not seem fresh as I usually enjoy the Spanakopit from Stepho's Greek Taverna. The phyllo pastry was ‘limp’, not crispy and fresh, as I was accustomed to from Stepho’s.
Kleftiko ($26) I spoke with who I believe may have been the Owner when I placed the Order, and let him know that I have dined and enjoyed Stepho’s meals in the past, and based on Instagram advertising I thought that I would check out a different Greek Restaurant, and wanted a Lamb Dinner, hopefully similar to the Roast Lamb Dinner served at Stepho’s. He let me know he was familiar with Stepho’s and that the Kleftico was similar. Upon examining the Meal, it was not anything similar to a roast Lamb Meal from Stepho’s (no greek salad, no veggie briami, no peppers). Overall, the potion was smaller, though the price for the meal was similar to Stepho’s!
Much to my surprise, there was only a single ‘half’ of a Potato; and only a ‘half’ a piece of Pita Bread.
It was served with a ‘Spinach’ Salad, and I was disappointed to find several of the Spinach was wilted/spoiled-blackened, and had to be pulled out of the Salad.
Tiramisu ($9) Much to my surprise again, but seemingly similar to the smaller potions and the ‘half’ potato, and the ‘half’ Pita that was served, the Tiramisu for a cost of $9, measured about a 2-inch Cube!!
I phoned and spoke to the same individual and expressed my disappointment.
This experience was of my doing entirely in experimenting based on Instagram advertising. I will definitely not be considering Four Olives Restaurant in the future when I look for Greek cuisine (value for money; taste; Presentation of Meal), and instead will dine...

@fourolivesrestaurant is a Mediterranean restaurant offering a fusion dining experience. It’s casual dining with an upscale ambiance. Ideal place for date nights or hanging out with friends over a delicious meal and drinks. They also have a patio for dining as well
The menu offers a delicious selection of souvlaki, pasta, seafood, steak and much more. Our salad was beautifully presented with marinated heirloom beetroot, arugula, white wine vinaigrette dressing and saganaki cheese. The Salt Spring mussels were fresh and quite big in size. It was nicely steamed in white wine, butter and garlic. These simple ingredients really showcase the fresh flavours of the tender and perfectly chewy textures of the mussels.
I really enjoyed the prawn zucchini spaghetti! There were fantastic flavours from the tomatoes, onions and roasted almonds. I love the crunchy textures of the zucchini contrasting with the al dente spaghetti. The prawns were decent sized and tasty. The halibut had a nice crust and interestingly sits on bed of butternut squash and charred carrots.
The tiramisu had creamy layers of mascarpone custard atop espresso-soaked ladyfingers with a side of citrusy wedges of orange. A tasty way to end a delicious meal.
Overall, I was impressed with Four Olives as they offer delicious food with great prices and portions. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was...
