Hululu Kerrisdale — Restaurant in Vancouver

We were initially skeptical because of the name ~ it’s slightly offensive if you don’t know it’s a direct translation for boba pearls really. Having grown up in Taiwan, I had to explain that to the hubby. Now let’s get down to it, we LOVED the desserts here more than we thought we would! First off the tofu based one was silky and soft as a baby’s bottom, and contrasting that are the delectably chewy mini sticky rice balls just making this a symphony of downright beautiful texture in one’s mouth. To top that off, this thang is pleasantly sweetened just enough to give you the satisfaction a dessert should without giving you an insulin shock. The anni tofu + mini balls are 💯on our replay list! Equally stunning in flavor and texture was the aiyu jelly one with the QQ add-ons. The aiyu I gotta sing its praises its texture is soft rather than gelatinous like other shops, so you know this is fresh and of high quality. The flavor of that aiyu is on point and so refreshing I felt like I just rolled down a beautiful meadow! I can go on and I see that I have! Absolutely love this place. I always go for milk tea (yes boring and predictable but you can’t beat the OG of bbt) 😏 and this place does a fine job. The best parts are: all the Castella pastries. I cant say enough about their cheese tarts and the tiramisu. 🙌🙌🙌

the atmosphere, usually has tables to sit, and very bright and comfortable and WARM (it’s so hard to find places that have heat, and care that their customers aren’t dying from hypothermia, ok maybe this’s just me and my cold bloodedness)

Litterally the best desert place ever! Sweetest staff and the most delicious deserts in Vancouver! I’ve been going to Blackball locations but this location specifically always stands out! I want to give 2 shotouts to the people i’ve been seeing the most in this store.

First One is April ( I am so sorry if this is incorrect, i’m very bad with names) which brightened my day with gifting me the cutest mini pearl keychain. Thanks April you are so sweet♥️

Second one is the very kind guy who is always wearing a bandana! I am sorry but I do not know his name. He is always super genuine and kind in his interactions and I really appriciate that he always makes sure his customers are well taken care of!
