Went here twice, both times with less than ideal experiences.

The place is very small and dirty, lots of cobwebs on the ceiling, stains on the chairs. No bathroom that I could see.

The customer service we got from the woman working in the kitchen was cold: no smile, no interest in making us feel welcome. We actually felt like we were bothering her by ordering food and felt bad about it. Maybe she was having a bad day...?

Maybe I'm a little demanding, but having worked in the food industry myself, I didn't really like the fact that she answered the telephone and was chatting on it while making our food. Phones are not very clean things, it's best to wash your hands after handling one before getting back to food.

I had two samosas which were pretty good though, might come back for some sometimes.

The jumbo butter chicken wrap, wasn't really a wrap per say, it was more like a massive naan "taco" with the chicken mixed with tons of rice. (unlike the picture they had at the cash). My husband said it didn't taste fresh, but it was pretty good regardless. Fork and knife recommended.

It's too bad because we would have loved to have a great Indian restaurant that is a walking distance from our place.

TLDR: Awful customer service, food OK but nothing...

🌟 Indian Village Eatery: A Hidden Gem in Vancouver! 🌟

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Village Eatery, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight! 🍽️ From the moment I stepped in, the warm and inviting ambiance made me feel right at home.

👨‍🍳 A Culinary Blessing: The food here is nothing short of magic. The flavors burst forth with authenticity, and my taste buds did a happy dance! The Mixed Vegetables Sabji with Rice and Naan was a symphony of spices, and the aroma alone was intoxicating. 🤤

💰 Affordability: What surprised me the most? The affordability! Indian Village Eatery offers top-notch Indian cuisine without breaking the bank. It's like a secret treasure trove for foodies who appreciate quality without the hefty price tag. 💸

👩‍⚖️ Impeccable Service: The staff, led by the wonderful woman who runs the place, is attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about their food. They take pride in every dish they serve, and it shows. 👏

Remember, good food isn't just about taste—it's about the experience. And at Indian Village Eatery, the experience is heartwarming and unforgettable. 🥰

Small shop with just one woman running the business - no other help. The aroma was delicious when I walked in. However after 45 mins from when we placed the order the cook hadn't even started our dishes. The one woman who was running everything from cooking to taking orders just can't do it all on her own. I also saw that she doesn't cook in batches she cooks one order at a time. This could explain why there was a backlog of people who had to wait over an hour for their takeout.

We gave up at 45 mins because we had to get to a show. I imagine the food would have been great so I advise you order takeout, show up so she'll start making your food, then take a walk and come back an hour later.

We did manage to get our samosas....

The food is super budget friendly. I ordered a to go of the palak paneer wrap and butter chicken wrap. The wrap is made out of freshly cooked roti with rice and gravy stuffing which tasted below average. I’m wondering if it would taste better as roti dipping into that specific curry. The veg samosas tasted great and crispy but the chef had forgotten to add the mint chutney( which was mentioned as a side accompanying the dish) The chef lady seems to lack hygiene. She attends her phone, touches the tab to take orders and doesn’t sanitize her hand before starting to cook. The utensils are stored in open and look dirty as well. Might hesitate to recommend this place to my pals.

I came in here and stumbled upon it by accident with my lovely wife. We had just come back from a lovely car ride and the weather was perfect. When first arriving one might say The decor had mych to be desired however I disagree. Honestly for this restaurant you don’t come here for the atmosphere. You come here for authentic homestyle cooking. We ordered the the best seller sampler. I will give this absolutely a 4 thumbs up because it was extremely delicious. Would highly recommend it 👍👍

I’m genuinely confused—who orders a paratha without ghee, butter, pickle, or raita? I ordered two parathas (one aloo, one gobi), and they arrived completely dry with none of the usual accompaniments. Why would you send them like that, especially through Uber Eats? It makes no sense. Either the staff isn’t familiar with Indian cuisine, or there’s a serious gap in understanding how these dishes should be served. Parathas without ghee and raita just don’t make sense. Wth
